ANYONE WHO WANTS A LARGE REAR WHEEL DRIVE PERFORMANCE SEDAN"

Up for sale is one Caprice PPV Police Vehicle. Privately Owned,  I purchased this vehicle NEW on July 25, 2012 from Coughlin Automotive Columbus, Ohio. FULL GM warranty 3YR/36,000 bumper to bumper 5YR/100,000 mile powertrain limited warranty. automatically transfers to new owner. Warranty start date 7/26/2012 & 78 miles. 100% stock drivetrain. This vehicle is not sold to the general public new. I am a police officer so I was able to purchase it new. It is a bare bones, kick a** hot rod sedan right out of the box. It was built and designed in europe, as such it has all the great performance aspects of a high dollar european sports sedan.  This vehicle is unlike any american made sedan past or present.  The new SS is the same car with a shorter wheelbase, as is the Camaro. The Pontiac G8 GT was the same car with a shorter wheelbase. What sets this vehicle apart is this; The Caprice is marketed as a police pursuit vehicle and sold as such. Not sold to the public new. It should be. It is an overall better performer on the track than a Pontiac G8 GT because the shift algorithm is set for the absolute best upshifts and downshifts (during aggressive driving) without regard to fuel mileage. It also will detect aggressive driving and downshift automatically to the best gear and hold that gear until redline for powering out of curves, etc. (called pursuit mode). It also has heavy duty suspension and unibody. Same brakes as the Camaro. With the L77 (LS2 block) with 355 HP and 385 torque this car will pull 0-60 around 6 seconds, but the torque along with the 6 speed transmission will absolutely blow your mind at highway speeds. Top speed of 155 MPH. It will stop in 129 feet from 60-0 the fastest stop time of any police vehicle. The L77 is basically a LS2 with L92 rectangular port heads (823 casting), Electronic throttle with 90mm body, High capacity fuel injectors (for E85) and a LS3 intake from the Corvette. This engine can easily be tuned to produce over 400 Horsepower on premium fuel or E85. This vehicle has cylinder deactivation for fuel economy. It DOES NOT have variable valve timing. The stock Goodyear Eagle RSA tires do hold the true handling of this car back, (as evident in test video's) as they are all season heavy duty tires designed for police use. I recommend summer only tires or Eagle GT tires when the stock tires need replaced. MSRP new $32,180 Feel free to message or email any questions. Full documentation along with many news articles and video's on this super car included. Here is a sample

The roominess in this vehicle is amazing. The trunk is also very big, much bigger than the Charger. The rear seat vinyl looks and feels like leather. The front seats are 1/2 vinyl (upper) and cloth (lower) and looks very nice. 6 way power seats with power lumbar and recliner

The Caprice is basically a stretched wheelbase Holden Commodore and sold as the Holden Statesman/Caprice in Australia and the Chevrolet Caprice in the Middle East. Built on the GM Zeta platform, it shares this platform with the Camaro and the new SS. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_Zeta_platform

Camaro and Pontiac G8 wheels can be mounted to this vehicle and there are many aftermarket wheels in 18 and 19 inch sizes that will make this vehicle more sporty looking (see pics)

OPTIONS/AFTERMARKET ITEMS;

Installed in this vehicle (see pics, mounted below the climate controls in dash) is a JVC CD/MP3/IPOD BLUETOOTH STEREO WITH REMOTE CONTROL, MICROPHONE AND FULL BLUETOOTH PHONE INTREGRATION AND STREAMING AUDIO. 4 NEW SONY 6.5 INCH DOOR SPEAKERS, 4 CHANNEL 50 WATT PER CHANNEL CLARION AMPLIFIER, KICKER SOLO BARIC 12" SUBWOOFER WITH SEPERATE CERWIN VEGA 500 WATT MONO AMPLIFIER.

The factory stereo/cd is still operational and feeds into the center dash speaker. It is not upgradeable to Bluetooth in the police vehicle in the USA so I installed the aftermarket unit.

Nice aftermarket center console with cup holders front and rear and large locking storage bin installed.

TomTom GPS included mounted next to shifter on console, auto on and off auto day night mode.

New 100 watt siren speaker with special mounting bracket for caprice (mounts on frame inner fender well) was never installed

Genuine GM "SS" badge from the new 2014 SS installed on rear trunk opposite "Caprice" see picture

Nice "Chevrolet" floor mats installed front and rear

HAS FACTORY INSTALLED FLASHING HEADLAMPS, REAR TAILLIGHTS/BACKUP LIGHTS ALTERNATING FLASHER STANDARD IN ALL CAPRICE PPV'S

OPTIONS INSTALLED FROM THE FACTORY ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Driver spot lamp $460.00

Auxiliary battery $250.00

Front auxiliary dome lamp $195.00

Full size spare tire $170.00

Vinyl rear seat and floor covering $110.00

TOTAL MSRP FOR THIS VEHICLE NEW IS $32,180.00

I bought this vehicle because I wanted a Pontiac G8 but could not find a good low mileage vehicle priced right. I was not disappointed buying this car.

*****NOTE; the last few pictures are of a Caprice SS (middle east), a new 2014 Chevy SS, and a fully dressed Caprice PPV. They are for reference only

Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.

Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.
