1965 Chevelle 300 Deluxe on 2040-cars

US $8,000.00
Year:1965 Mileage:99999
Location:

Petersburg, Virginia, United States

Re-listed with Buy it now and best offer -  Up for sale is a 1965 Chevelle 300 Deluxe 2 door coupe . It has a clean VA Title.

This car was purchased in Feb of this year for a restoration-mod project - but I've decided to sell it to help buy a piece of land that I want. Too many wanted things in life - not enough paycheck.
Car has had extensive work done to it already - it has no rot through on the frame, the trunk pan has been done, and all floor pans are in excellent shape, this is not a 'basket case" rusted out hulk. With an estimated 5-6000.00 dollars in work this car will be drivable, add in a paint job and it'll be show ready.  The car was originally Thaitan Blue from the factory, and a VIN decode shows it as being built in Framingham MA. I'm not a big fan of "clones" but this car would also make a great candidate to do a Z16 clone.

Car is located in Petersburg VA and could possibly remain at the shop it is at for restoration  - I make no promises or guarantee that it can- that is between you and the shop owner!!

The original engine was an inline 6 - it is long gone, and does not come with the car. Car will come with a 1999 5.7 Vortec style GM 4 bolt main block with roller cam (880 casting number) that has been recently totally rebuilt for an output of an estimated 360-380 HP and is 90% ready to go into the car. The engine comes with a set of GM Cast Iron Vortec style heads installed. An Edelbrock Intake is included as well. If you are not interested in the Engine - then let me know I will adjust the price of the car.

Car has a 3.08:1 rear gear in it - based on research. It was an original 2 speed automatic (Powerglide) car.
Car does NOT come with a transmission - I have not gotten that far with it as of yet.

Included in this auction  will be the following items:

A brand new complete bumper to bumper American wiring harness is included with this auction that was purchased from Summit for the project

A Brand new custom Billet dash insert from Bose Engineering with Speed, Tach, Oil, Amps, & Water Temp gauges is included with this project.

A Freshly rebuilt Holly 650 Carb is included with this project.

Rims and tires in the pictures are in excellent shape and are included with this auction.

Body molding / Trim is there and all glass but the front windshield is there.

2 Heated / Power leather trimmed seats from a 2012 Malibu are included with this auction. Keep them for a restro-mod style project or sell them to help offset the costs of replacing the interior. The car still has the original back seat but the front seat is no longer with the car.

A complete set of (16) Scorpion Roller Rockers are included to help finish up the 5.7L Engine build.

New - still in the box Proform Chrome valve covers with the Chevrolet Bow Tie on them are included with this auction.

Many more pictures are available to anyone who wishes to see them, simply send a message via E-bay and I will be more than happy to send you as many pictures as I have.

At the buy it now price of 8K I will provide 250.00 for shipping if you need the car shipped.

This car is for sale locally - I reserve the right to end this auction if the car sells before auction ends.

Feel free to ask questions - I will answer them as fast as possible - and good luck  !!

Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.

More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
