YOU ARE BIDDING ON A ORIGINAL BARN FIND THAT MY UNCLE OWNED BEFORE HE DIED. THIS IS A 1966 CHEVELLE 2 DOOR HARDTOP. THE BODY OF THE CAR IS IN DESCENT SHAPE. IT HAS ALL THE ORIGINAL BODY PANELS ON THE CAR. THE ROCKERS, FENDERS AND REAR QUARTERS ARE IN VERY GOOD SHAPE. THE LOWER PASSENGER REAR QUARTER WILL NEED A PATCH PANEL. THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER FLOORS WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. YOU CAN SEE THAT THE CAR PAINT WAS STRIPPED DOWN TO THE METAL SO THAT YOU COULD SEE HOW STRAIGHT THE BODY IS. MY UNCLE STARTED THE INITIAL BODY WORK BUT COULD NOT FINISH. I HAVE THE REPLACEMENT FLOORS ALONG WITH A REPLACEMENT FRONT WINDSHIELD. THE TRUNK PAN WILL ALSO NEED REPLACING. THE INTERIOR COMES WITH A FRONT BENCH SEAT. THE ENGINE IS A SMALL BLOCK 327 WITH A AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. MY UNCLE HAS NOT STARTED THIS CAR IN THE PAST 3 YEARS SINCE BEING SICK. Chevy SS prototype spotted wearing Pontiac G8 clothes

Do not adjust your computer screen, you are not seeing the rebirth of the Pontiac brand. General Motors has chosen to use a G8 to disguise a test mule for the latest prototype of the forthcoming Chevrolet SS. The G8 was closely related to the Holden Commodore and Vauxhall VXR, the platform upon which the new Chevrolet performance model will be based. It should come as little surprise, then, that GM has opted to use the cladding from the former G8.
Thought the front clip of this mule is pure Pontiac, note the vents immediately behind the front wheel. That is a distinctive design hallmark of the Vauxhall VXR. Also note that this vehicle is right-hand drive, as the Holden and its Chevy counterpart will be very closely related. That likely includes potential drivetrains. The spy photos of this mule also reveal very wide rear tires, and rear wheels that do not match the fronts.
GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics
Mon, 20 Aug 2012After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.

Thu, 07 Mar 2013Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.
