Buy this Total Frame Off Nut & Bolt Quality Restoration for 50 cents on the dollar.  Car is a 40K mile California car that has been owned for the last 30 years by a local TV Personalality who had the car totally restored by a local high quality shop (Customs & Classics).  I have numersous photos (100) of the restoration process.  The car was finished in 2002 and has been kept in indoor heated garage with approximately 100 miles on it since the restoration.  The 283 and Power Glide have been replaced by a ZZ4 Aluminum Headed 350 Crate Motor and a B&M Turbo 350 Conversion.  To enter this car in the 2013 World Of Wheels Auto-Rama I had the seats redone (the seats that were in the car were done in the wrong grain - incorrect for the car, I also replaced the Rally Wheels with new Crager SS's & BF Goodrich TA's (the new Rallys with Caps and Rings and new 14" Firestones will go with the car if you want the stock look).  The car won Best Of Class in the 2013 World of Wheels Auto-ama - it is a very good looking car, runs and drives better than it did off the showroom floor.  The restoration really was done right - (to the tune of $70,000).  I bought this car because it is so nice but recent medical expences force me to sell the car - major heart attack and wife says it needs to go to help pay the medical bills.  If you have any questions or want me to email additional pictures feel free to give me a call.  I also am listing  the car locally, so the ad could be pulled at any time.  If you are at all interested don't let this one get away - you won't be sorry, it is a very very nice car. Chevy Corvette Stingray "colorizer" lets you chase the rainbow

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

After you've convinced your better half to let you buy a new Corvette, then comes the hard part... actually figuring out which 'Vette you want. While Chevrolet has yet to release the official configurator for the 2014 Corvette Stingray, it did give us something else to kill some time playing around with.
The C7 Corvette "colorizer" recently went online, and it lets you look at the car in all of its available colors and wheel options from four different angles so that when this car does go on sale, you know exactly which one you want. It includes the Corvette's full pallet of colors including Torch Red, Laguna Blue and the hue you see above, Velocity Yellow. Toss in the black wheels, and we're sold. If you have some time this afternoon, be sure to check it out the Corvette colorizer for yourself, and even if you don't have the time, we've put together a gallery with all of the possible color combinations.

Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future

Wed, 19 Nov 2014

The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.

C7 Corvette makes inaugural ad appearance in Chevy's first spot with new slogan

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" tagline has finally been run into the ground, replaced with the Bowtie brand's "Find New Roads" slogan that's part of parent General Motors' plan to unify its everyday brand's marketing efforts worldwide. The new Chevrolet campaign was ushered in on prime time last night during the Grammy Awards on CBS, and the first spot, a 90-second full-line ad, also marks the first appearance of the 2014 Corvette Stingray in a commercial.
Being a full-line ad, the commercial is composed of vignettes centered on different vehicles in the brand's lineup. The all-new 2014 Impala also makes its first commercial appearance in dapper fashion, and time is spent on a skateboarding Sonic and a bouquet of brightly colored Spark hatchbacks driven by fashionable women. The ad starts and ends with Chevy's green halo car, the Volt, along with a young girl with her robotic dog (yes, really).
Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" campaign got off to a rocky start in the fall of 2010, but it did last for a couple of years with some tweaks. This new one, "Find New Roads" seems more intent on drawing new customers into the fold than the outgoing tagline, which seemed to play more toward the brand faithful. It admittedly reminds us more than a little the short-lived "Find Your Own Road" Saab motto (which, we note, was conceived while the Swedish brand was under GM's control), but no matter, we still think it's got more long-term potential than "Runs Deep."
