UP FOR SALE:   1967 CHEVELLE SS

This is a REAL SS 138 car.  This is a true barn find and is an unmolested and preserved time capsule and is the picture of GM originality.  Car is a numbers matching gem.

Up for sale we have a 1967 Chevy Chevelle SS. This is a true 138 vin Chevelle SS. It has a big block with killer look and thirsty for your restoration.  In ’67 they finished up this body style and completely changed the next year. In the paragraphs to follow I will give you a brief description of the exterior, interior and heartbeat of the Chevelle,

We will start off with the exterior of the Chevelle. When you walk around this Chevelle it has great lines and is straight down the sides. The body is covered in the Original Marina Blue Paint. As for the stainless it’s in great original condition with no dings. The windshield and the rest of the glass all look good. It retains its original weather stripping. The grill and hood louvers appear to fit perfectly yet and are in great shape. The final exterior touch is the set of original rims with SS hubcaps and spare with jack assembly that is still in the trunk.

Next, we will move on to the interior of the ’67. When you look inside it’s all done in blue with the automatic column shifter and blue carpet. The carpet, door panels, and headliner all appear in great original condition. When you look at the dash it appears correct with even the factory style knobbed radio, clock and the air controls being in the correct location. The steering column is factory and has the factory mint condition steering wheel with “SS” in the middle and no pitting.  Horn and directionals all work in perfect order.

Finally, we will take a look at the heartbeat of the Chevy. When you look under the hood all the fire wall and inner fenders are detailed in done in black. The detailed engine is a numbers matching 396 with original miles that is mated to an automatic trans and 12 Bolt rear end. It has been dressed with chrome Air Cleaner. To keep it cool it still retains its factory Harrison Radiator and factory GM water pump.  To give it a nice sound we all like it has 2.5 inch exhaust with new stainless mufflers and factory exhaust manifolds.  It comes with standard heat with Four wheel drum Brakes and Power Steering. When you look at the bottom of this Chevelle it all appears solid from the floor pans to the frame.

You must see the car to appreciate how original it is.   Please check out the videos below as they have some good detail besides the pictures.

For those that like numbers,  here's just a few of them:  Car was and early 1967 build (considered a mid year production).

Motor:  396 BB, 7B148876  (matches VIN)  T01I0EK   Tonowanda Jan 10th 1967 325 HP PG

Rear:  3894939  CDE  0113B   Eaton Posi 3.07 ratio built January 13th  1967 in Buffalo NY

Delco Remy Alternator:  1100693 37A   7A16   January 16th 1967

Distributor:  1111169  6M30

Still retains original Harrison Radiator   VY

Intake Manifold:   3883948  K296   November 29 1966

Exhaust Manifold:  3916178 RH2

Rochester Carb:  2572  7037211 EF  4MV

Water Pump:  3856284

Overall,  the car needs some straight panel fixes, but doesn't need full panels of anything.  The doors/hood shuts perfectly,  car retains all of its original sheet metal/wheels, and even the original trunk/glove box, and ignition keys.   A new HEI distributor was put in for easier starts.  The oil was just changed and the car fires right up.  Yes, the driver's rear quarter was swiped by a barn door (very fixable)  Original air cleaner, SS hubcaps, oil filter canister, distributor, spare tire and jack are all in the trunk.  If you want a nice SS, then this is a great start for you!  Drive while you fix.

GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.

Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future

Wed, 19 Nov 2014

The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.

Pics Aplenty: Meet the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra [w/poll]

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

Today was a pretty big day for General Motors, debuting the all-new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickup trucks ahead of their official showcase at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. And now that the dust has settled at GM's big reveal event, we've had a chance to snap dozens of photos of the new pickup pair from every angle.
We already told you the important bits earlier today (click here in case you missed it), but let's recap. Under the hood are three new engines - a 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 (you know, a version of the small-block that'll also be found under the hood of the C7 Corvette), all mated to six-speed automatic transmissions. The 2014 model year marks the return of the Z71 off-road package with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and beefier underbody protection. Inside, there's a host of new technology and a greater focus on better quality and refinement.
Some of the nitty-gritty specifics (like engine output numbers and fuel economy) have yet to be revealed, and since we haven't driven the finished products yet, it's hard to say how these trucks will fare against rivals like the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150. For now, we can only judge these two books by their covers, and while we do like the designs of the new trucks, we Autoblog staffers are torn on exactly which one looks best.
