He Had Intentions Of Doing A Full Restoration But Never Got Around To It - But He Did Replace The Engine And Transmission During His Ownership. The Original 289 Was Replaced With A Rebuilt 350. The Original 2 Speed Powerglide Was Replaced With A Th350 - 3 Speed. Both Have About 10,000 Miles Or Less On Them. The Engine And Transmission Work Great - Car Runs And Drives Nice With Plenty Of Power. The Body Is Very Straight - No Known Accident History. There Are Some Rust Areas As Noted But No Structural Issues - Floor And Rockers Are Clean And Dry. The Doors Open And Close With Ease - Door Locks Match Original Ignition Key And All Work As Designed. The Interior Is Very Acceptable But Does Have Flaws. The Dash Has A Center Crack And Part Of The Rear Headliner Is Hanging Down. Radio Is Aftermarket And Works. I Still Have The Original Radio Which Will Be Included. I Have Most Records Since The Mid 1980s - Also Included Are The Original Manuals And Protect-o-plate. For Those In Ca, Registration Is Current Through April 2018. Clear Ca Title. GM recalling 118K Colorado, Canyon pickups over missing hood latches
Thu, 20 Dec 2012General Motors has announced a recall of 118,800 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks due to the possibility of secondary hood latches not being installed at the time of manufacture. The affected vehicles are from the 2010, 2011 and 2012 model years, all of which were built between November 9, 2009 and August 28, 2012.
According to the official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, these trucks fail to "comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 113, 'Hood Latch System.' The hood may be missing the secondary hood latch." In other words, owners of these trucks could find their vehicles' hoods opening unexpectedly while driving.
The official recall campaign is expected to begin on January 17, 2013. Dealers will inspect the affected pickups and if a secondary hood latch is not present, one will be installed free of charge. Scroll down to read the official NHTSA report.

Mon, 21 Jan 2013Judging by your continued enthusiastic response to configurator notices, dear reader, you enjoy speccing out new cars as much as we do. Better still, there tends to be even more ways to personalize, configure and bloat theoretical MSRPs on full-size trucks as there are with more ordinary passenger cars. In addition to trim level, engine and transmission choices, truck buyers usually have to specify items like cab configuration, bed length, number of driven axles, tow packages, gear ratios and all sorts of bits and bobs.
That's why we're pleased to see the DIY specification utility for the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado come alive so soon after this week's Detroit Auto Show debut. While the configurator lacks pricing (General Motors hasn't announced numbers yet) and full options, you can still spec out your half-ton rig, and even print it out or email it to your friends. Beyond the configurator, the new model-specific site is pretty cool, too, with various videos and closer looks at the truck's new features.
The new Chevrolet pickup range won't be on dealer lots until sometime this summer, so whether you're a building contractor, an avid sportsman or just a guy or gal that loves full-size trucks, you might want to check out the link below to keep your appetite whetted. If you're more of a Sierra fan, well, it looks like you're going to have to wait a while - GMC hasn't updated its site yet.
