1969 Chevy Chevelle Malibu, 2 owners. 82k Original miles. This car is in great shape. Has been repainted once and the paint looks very nice with only 2 or 3 small imperfections. Interior looks great, originally a bench seat car, previous owner put in buckets. They look nice but I was going to put a bench back in it. Besides the paint which is very close to original color this has to be one of the most original old cars I have seen. Even has the original sales paperwork and New vehicle warranty papers. Car was purchased new on July 14th 1969 In Santa Barbara Califoria from Washburn Chevrolet. Additional options are turbo hyrodmatic, air conditioning, power steering, deluxe seat belts, tinted glass, power breaks, radio, wheel covers, door edge guards. This car has every receipt from the day it was purchased new. It has been sitting and has only been driven less than 1000 miles in the last 5 years. Original owner sold this in 2008. It has always been garaged and covered, car cover comes with the car. It runs and drives very nice but should have a tuneup done on it. I see NO rust on this car anywhere. Everything seems to work as it should except for the ac is not blowing cold. All lights work, turn signals, ect. Tires are in great shape. Under side of car look great. Trunk is very clean with the original tire jack and spare tire. I bought this car with every intention on keeping it but an opportunity has come up and that is the only reason for me selling this beautiful car. I have lots of pics so if you need more just ask. I am starting the bidding at 3709.00 which is what this car sold for new and this is a NO reserve auction. Car is for sale locally so I have the right to end auction early. Thanks for looking and good luck!!

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction

Sun, 17 Feb 2013

It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.

PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]

Wed, 19 Jun 2013

PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place. Head over to PickupTrucks.com to read the full evaluation and the final results. You may be shocked to see exactly where some of the segment's newest additions placed. You can also watch a video on the test below.
