1969 Chevelle Yenko Remake on 2040-cars
Kaukauna, Wisconsin, United States
Classic Car: 427 HP Yenko Vehicle Description
Motor and Transmission Complete motor rebuild June 2011 to update it with the best parts. (have the invoice for it) done by a professional On the dyno the 468 cu. inch motor had 470 ft. lbs. torque @ 4000 RPM and 435 HP @ 6000RPM
Body & Extra upgrades Solid body Winston white lettered tires A lot of Horse Power! This car is a head turner, it has lot of power and really is a pretty cool car. It would need some work done to the body of the car to make is show quality, but for the most part there are only few cosmetic issues. The motor alone is a $10,000 recent investment because it was completely gone through and rebuilt to get it up to the 21st century parts. So the motor is good and ready for the drag strip. The interior compartment is good to excellent shape. The only thing I don’t like about the originality of the interior is that Chevy did was the card board looking rear window dash. A nice custom leather dash pan would really help and update the interior for about a hundred bucks. Also there is not an original radio in this car and it would be nice to have the original one back but it did not work at all at the time of the restoration in 2004 so just a plain jane AM/FM cassette one was put in there for the time being. If you are young yet saying less than a hundred years old you need to buy your self this car. The reason I am selling it is I have too much stuff and would really like to sell it to a new owner. The car can make long trips I could get 20 MPH if I drove it reasonably with no problems. Since the new more rebuild a new speedometer, tech, oil pressure, and fuel gauge was put in. because the original one was just a speedometer. Car is sold as is where is and will be more than happy to talk to you pointing out anything that I know of about this car. I have had this car for a few years know and have worked through the whole thing so I know it well. For any questions let me know and I will be more than happy to answer them. Thanks! |

GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices
Mon, 21 Oct 2013The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.
2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.
Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]
Sun, 03 Feb 2013The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.
