This car was purchased at Joslin Chevrolet in Traverse City Michigan on Feb,27 1970 for $3393.13 plus tax by Harland C. Smith. He traded in a 66 Nova that he got $700 for. I have the security agreement as well as the bill of sale and the life insurance policy he added. Options listed on the bill of sale are -tinted glass-posit axel-4 spd trans-ps -p/b radio-rear seat speaker =cowl hood and SS 396 Equip.
The car overall is in good shape by this I mean the floors, rockers, cowl trunk are very very solid. The doors open and shut very very well. There are some rust issues and they are as follows. Lower corners of both fenders. The structure is still intact and are very repairable. Dent to the front of the hood very repairable. The following needs replaced-- deck lid both quartes and outer as well as trunk drop offs. (these are included in the sale!) Front bumper filler panel. There is a hole in the frame in front of the lower trailing arm mount. Should be an easy repair. (see pic- I have never seen one rust there before)
Engine is a 1970 396/350 HP out of a 70 Chevelle SS CTX code. Engine was running well when purchased. Missing is the carb, air cleaner, Also included is a complete Flowmaster exhaust from a 70 Chevelle SS. It sounded very good. Trans is a 1970 M-20 out of a 1970 Chevelle Works well with newer clutch flywheels and correct bell housing. The reverse lock out is still on the car! Rear is a posi with 3.31 gears-boxed lower arms and sway bar not installed but included. Wheels are after market 15x7 with new tires. I have maybe 1000 miles on them. (note you may trade them for a set of 14x7 SS wheels and new tires. The rims however need restored. your choice.) Interior was a blue cloth bench however I bought 2 white bucket seats for it. Dash need replaced.
This is not an auction I have set a price on the car and it is firm. The price is $10250. I could list it for 14K and try for offers but I am very busy now so I put my bottom dollar on it. As not to waste my or your time. Please feel free to come see the car or call me 765 206 0350 Steve
I live 1 hour north of Indy.

Chevy shows much-improved 2014 Corvette interior in new video
Mon, 11 Feb 2013If you want a closer look at what went into designing and building the interior for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, we've got just the thing. General Motors has released a new video detailing the cabin's evolution from conception to execution, complete with commentary from Ryan Vaughn, performance car interior design manager with Chevrolet. The quick clip details how manufacturing, engineering and design within General Motors worked together from the first sketches to ensure no compromises had to be made later down the line. How novel.
With plenty of hides traced with contrast stitching and available real carbon fiber trim, the cabin looks to be a few hundred miles ahead of the C6. Given how readily critics derided the previous generation for its cabin, the C7 should make writers work a little harder to find something to complain about. Check out the video below for yourself.
2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette wastes no time zooming into Jay Leno's Garage
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Where else would you expect the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray to show up first? Although this time it isn't exactly in Jay Leno's Garage, Leno instead playing an away game at Brown's Classic Auto in Scottsdale, Arizona. Nor does Leno drive the car, instead taking an 11-minute walkaround of the new American sports car with General Motors design head Ed Welburn, the same man who recently brought by a string of classic Corvettes to the talk show host's California compound.
It is, admittedly, a love-fest for the American sports car now featuring 450 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, but one that also features admissions about previous Corvette seats like "they were kinda rough," and the explanation that labeling the coupe "Stingray" means not having to call it "the base Corvette." On top of that, Welburn also explains the proper application of the term "dashboard." You can watch it all in the video below.
The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.
