Geneva, Ohio, United States

UP FOR BID IS A 1970 CHEVELLE. THE CAR ORIGINALLY STARTED IT'S LIFE AS A 6 CYLINDER CAR BUT NOW IT HAS A FRESH 402 BIG BLOCK IN IT WITH HEADERS. THE 402 WAS FRESHENED UP WITH NEW RINGS, BEARINGS, OIL PUMP, CAM AND LIFTERS AND TIMING CHAIN. I HAVE NOT FIRED THE ENGINE YET. THE ENGINE IS BACKED BY A SAGINAW 4 SPEED WITH NEW CLUTCH, PRESSURE PLATE AND THROW OUT BEARING.. THE CAR HAS A 12 BOLT POSI WITH 456 GEARS AND A LADDER BAR SETUP IN THE BACK. THE CAR ALSO HAS A FRONT DISC BRAKE CONVERSION KIT ON IT.THE BODY HAS BEEN OFF THE FRAME, PAINTED, AND NEW BUSHINGS INSTALLED BEFORE I GOT IT. FRAME IS IN VERY GOOD SHAPE. OVERALL THE BODY IS IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE BUT THERE IS SOME BONDO IN THE REAR QUARTERS AND IT STILL HAS A COUPLE SMALL RUST HOLES IN THE QUARTERS BUT THEY ARE VERY EASILY FIXABLE. ( SEE PICS) THE DOORS ARE IN PRETTY DECENT SHAPE WITH A FEW DINGS BUT MAY NEED A LITTLE BIT OF REPAIR ON THE BOTTOMS. THE CAR COMES WITH A NEW LEFT FRONT FENDER.  THE RIGHT FENDER IS A REPOP AND IT HAS A DECENT COWL INDUCTION HOOD. ALSO HAVE A NEW SET OF INNER FENDERS AND NEW DOOR PANEL SET. THEN FLOORS IN THE CAR ARE IN PRETTY DECENT SHAPE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF SOME HOLES WHERE A ROLL CAGE WAS INSTALLED AT ONE TIME. THE TRUNK FLOOR IS IN NICE SHAPE BUT THEY CUT A HOLE IN IT FOR THE FUEL CELL BUT I DO HAVE THE PATCH PANEL FOR THAT.THERE IS 2 SPOTS IN THE TRUNK THAT NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED WHERE THE ROLL CAGE WAS WELDED TO THE FLOOR. THIS CAR WOULD MAKE A PERFECT SUPER SPORT CLONE OR A REST ROD. WOULD BE VERY EASY TO HAVE THIS CAR ON THE ROAD THIS YEAR. USED CAR SOLD AS IS.
EMAIL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS.
BUYER RESPONSIBLE FOR LOCAL PICKUP OR SHIPPING.
I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION AT ANY TIME AS IT IS FOR SALE LOCALLY FOR $6500.00. THE RESERVE IS LESS THAN THAT.

Next Corvette ZR1 to get 700 horsepower?

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

Word has it General Motors may offer as much as 700 horsepower in the C7 Corvette ZR1. Motor Trend reports the next Corvette Z06 will continue to rely on its naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine for thrust, but the lump will deliver substantially more power. How much more? MT says the engine could deliver up to 600 ponies. That's a jump of 95 horsepower over the current Z06, though no figures have been finalized as of yet. Right now, GM is reportedly waiting to see what sort of grunt it can glean from the next ZR1.
The automaker has already made it clear it will resurrect the LT5 name for the new supercharged V8, and if GM is already pulling 600 from the Z06, the big dog ZR1 would theoretically offer 700 horsepower. Either way, the range-topping Corvette will be suitably insulated from its less potent siblings. Stay tuned. We aren't likely to see the Z06 for at least a year, with the ZR1 trailing along at some point there after.

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum.
