1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Ss on 2040-cars

US $27,840.00
Year:1970 Mileage:2600 Color: Blue /
 White
Location:

Lehigh Acres, Florida, United States

Lehigh Acres, Florida, United States

was built in the Flint Michigan plant, in the 3rd week of September, 1969.
(Flint did not use build sheets) You can tell this was one of the first of the 70's built by the chrome strip
under the headlight bezels. (later Chevelle's didn't have these) Also from the trim tag, you can see the paint code
(28) is Fathom Blue... (A) is the white vinyl top and (791) is white interior.

The seats have new foam & covers. Whole dash is new with all new SS gauges. The original A/C system as been
upgraded to a Vintage Air system that blows ice cold. Everything in this interior works perfectly including reverse
lights.
Front seat belts have also been upgraded to a modern 3 point system.

Exterior paint is flawless and has been buffed within an inch of its life and the white rally stripes are under
four coats of clear. Vinyl top is new and perfect.....and this car was ordered with the special Super Sport rims.

In the engine bay photos, you see it has power steering, brakes, A/C and the cowl induction feature, which works as
it should. From the factory stamp on the block, you can see...T 09 15 CTX which says, Tonawanda, Sept.,15 and CTX
means...396ci, 350hp and 4 speed manual transmission. The other photo shows you...1 0 F 109337 which is 1 =
Chevrolet, 0 = 1970, F = Flint and 109337 is the vin#.
The transmission photo shows....P = Muncie, 9 = 1969, P 11 = Sept. 11 and A = M20. Which means this is correct for
this car.
The 12 bolt posi-traction rear has been upgraded to Moser 12 bolt which is a stronger rear end.
Engine, transmission and rear have been gone through, rebuilt and are in perfect operating condition.
Under the car you'll see a new exhaust system, clean pans & frame....totally rust free....in fact there is not a
bit of rust on this car anywhere!

Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

Why does the Corvette Stingray have so many vents? Here's why

Sun, 27 Jan 2013

Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.
If you have about five minutes and you can't get enough information about the new 'Vette, then check out the videos posted below.
