CALIFORNIA CAR***NO BODY RUST***

This is the complete purchase/rebuild of my 1972 Chevelle.
I am from Sacramento, California and this car was purchased in Napa, California, July 27, 2011. I moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, to play football for the University of Utah. I of course brought my baby with me and towed her across the desert.
She has been kept in a garage nearly every day of my ownership. I have only driven her May-October since I have lived here, in order to not get salt or rust on this car. I have taken extremely good care of it.
The car has:
- Chevy crate LM1 motor with less than 3,000 miles on it (5.7 L, 350 cc - 320 HP, 290 lbs torque)
- Chrome power steering pump, air cleaner, and others
- $6,000 polyurethane, double-base clear, SS paint job
- Aluminum Shorty Hooker Headers
- Aluminum pulleys for added power
- HEI distributor with New Spark Plugs
- New flywheel and transmission lines
- Brand-new interior, with custom Chevy Tahoe seats (original bench is also available)
- 3-speed transmission. Perfect for cruising, but car tears it up
- New springs
- MP3/CD/Radio
- New chrome window cranks

The Bad:
The car has some cosmetic damage. I had a trolley jack in the trunk of the car and it cracked the paint on the sides. I have attached pictures.
The rear passenger side trim scraped the side of my garage-door molding/trim, but there is no body damage.
Last summer, some idiot tried to steal my starter, and one carriage bolt had to be replaced.

I am only selling this car because i have met the love of my life and want to buy her a ring worthy of her.

Here is a website documenting the complete purchase/rebuild. I spent months looking for a solid-bodied, rust-free, 72 Chevelle SS. Childhood dream car, found dream wife, it's a no-brainer.

Chevrolet Captiva looks mildly refreshed and ready for family duty

Tue, 05 Mar 2013

We showed you Chevrolet's major debut yesterday, the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible, but General Motors is making a big push for Bowtie consideration in Europe, so it's also introducing the updated Captiva crossover here at the Geneva Motor Show.
While still based on the same platform as North America's fleet-only Captiva Sport (which is effectively a rebadged Saturn Vue), the Captiva is available in both five- and seven-seat iterations, and it looks far more modern. That's particularly the case with this updated model, which features revamped front- and rear ends that include restyled bumpers, grilles and LED taillamps, among other changes.
As before, the midsize Theta-platform CUV will be available in both front- and all-wheel drive, and is expected to carry a range of four- and six-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. Important US programming note: Chevrolet sources tell us that America's Captiva Sport will not receive these updates.

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.

GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics

Mon, 20 Aug 2012

After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.
