Now is the chance to own one of the best on/off road vehicles ever
produced. The Dodge Raider was imported by Chrysler and was just a
rebadged Mitsubishi Montero. The Montero was the winner for many years
of the famous Paris-Dakar Rally bone stock. During the years these were
imported only the last year, 1989, had the option of the fuel injected
3.0 V-6. The 5pd is the way to go since the auto transmissions were
problematic and now there are no parts available for the auto trans.
This Raider just had the top end rebuilt with new gaskets and rebuilt
cylinder heads. All electronic systems work, the A/C blows super cold,
heat gets very hot, and the inclinometer still has fluid in it! It comes
with the factory service manuals too.
As you can see in the pictures the body is in GREAT shape for the year. |

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. GM looks to combat high theft rates on SUVs with added tech
Tue, 24 Dec 2013The Cadillac Escalade has been at or near the top of most-stolen and insurance-loss lists for more than seven years, until it dropped to number six earlier this year. In 2011 it was fitted with a host of new security features to address its easy-to-override features and that has brought the number of thefts down, but when eight of the ten most stolen rides are large SUVs from General Motors, no one will argue that something else needs to be done.
Thus, GM has fitted this same theft-deterring tech to the 2015 Suburban, Tahoe and Yukon. The Suburban and Tahoe will get the steering lock that the Escalade and Yukon already get, plus bolted-down third-row seats to deter thefts like this, stronger door lock cylinders and shields, and side-cut keys to inhibit picking.
Additional security measures in a Theft Protection Package can be purchased for $395, consisting of sensors on the greenhouse glass and interior, an incline/tilt sensor and added "key control systems" to make it more difficult for the men in black balaclavas to steal what you bought.

After a bright-yellow false start, here is the real thing: the fourth-generation, 2015 Corvette Z06. If Chevrolet makes a ZR1 version of the C7 Corvette, it's going to be absolutely mega, because the Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.
