Before I begin, I would encourage all serious buyers to contact me directly at 1-517-990-2646 with any questions or concerns.

1970 was a great year for styling in GM's intermediate line, and the Chevelle SS was at the top of that platform. The SS 396 was a relatively inexpensive entry into the muscle car market. This Tuxedo Black SS 396ci is fitted with a 700R 4-speed transmission as well as power steering and power disc brakes along with a build sheet of very desirable options.

You are bidding on what is arguably one of the top five most desired and collectable classic cars today. Up for sale is a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, nicely optioned with the 396ci/350hp motor,  upgraded automatic 700R 4-speed. This car was ordered with a ton of factory options a fully loaded 1970 SS. Recently purchased from long time collector, has been freshened up with cosmetic restoration with new paint. We have the build sheet from GM of Canada. This was a Forest Green SS and was professionally changed to Tuxedo Black and looks great with the White stripes.

Mechanical: NOM 396ci/350hp, T1220JC code, casting # 3955272 block upgraded and rebuilt with solid lifters, 700R 4-speed trans, power steering and power disc brakes, 12 bolt posi 3:31 rear end with front and rear sway bars. F-41 special performance suspension, factory exhaust manifolds with dual exhaust sounds great.

Interior: Correct Black bucket seat interior, factory console with the shifter indicator changed to 3-speed with overdrive, GM sport style tilt steering wheel, aftermarket Sony am/fm/cass retro fit in the dash currently hooked up and sounds great, full factory gauge package, tinted glass, Carpet, seat covers, headliner, interior looks nice and needs nothing.

Exterior: Currently painted Tuxedo Black with white SS stripes, working factory cowl hood, Chevelle rides on factory 5 spoke SS wheels. All the chrome and stainless looks very nice, the paint is newer and there nothing that takes away from the car, a few nicks here and there from normal use and it is better than driver quality and looks great and shines well.

The 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan is for drivers who value performance above all else

Sat, 16 Feb 2013

The car you see above is the 2014 Chevrolet SS, and it's important both because it is the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from Chevy in 17 years, and because it will be the nameplate the brand uses on NASCAR tracks all across the country starting this year.
Though it wears a name as American as baseball and apple pie, the machine was actually designed and built in Australia, sharing most of its parts with the brand-new VF-model Holden Commodore. That said, the basic chassis bits are shared with other Chevrolet models like the Camaro and Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle.
While Chevrolet is happy to sell a Malibu or Impala to anyone looking for a mainstream family sedan, but the SS is reserved for buyers interested first and foremost in performance. Most sedans sold these days are front-wheel drive, which is great for everyday driving and when the weather goes bad, but the SS is instead a rear-wheel-drive vehicle aimed at enthusiasts who love to drive and who prefer speed and performance above all else.

Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.

Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....
