A 1970 Chevelle is up for auction. This Chevelle has a rebuilt 375 horse 396,less than 7,000 miles on it. Rod bearings, push rods, rings, heads completely redone. Jackson gear drive, Edelbrock 750. Belts, hoses, water pump, coil, fuel pump, pwr. steering pump, motor mounts, all new. 4 core radiator keeps it running cool. Completely rewired. 400 turbo tranny. All of the bulbs have been replaced. New carpet, new door panels, new head liner, new back tray, new speakers, new weather stripping, new steel fender wells, new tires, new custom made 3" exhaust w/ super 44 flow masters. Body is straight no rust, garage kept since 2007. It won't take much to make this THE PERFECT CHEVELLE. Not a SS. Needs are , front glass, paint, vinyl top,( I have all the chrome that surronds the vinyl ) a right kick panel, and a heater blower motor with an a/c delete. I have the wrong heater unit. Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car
Wed, 20 Feb 2013We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Camaro spy shots show subtly different grille, front fascia
Sun, 03 Feb 2013It looks like there some changes in store for the Chevrolet Camaro - the only thing is that we just don't know what Chevy has up its sleeve. Looking at these spy shots, we'd initially be inclined to think that there is just a minor facelift or a new special edition, but upon closer inspection, there are a few oddities about this car that definitely have us intrigued.
The most obvious difference on this prototype is the slightly restyled front fascia with a smaller lower air inlet and the two-bar grille. Then we get to some of the car's mysterious details. For starters, this fascia has the SS vent above the grille, but it looks to be blocked off. Granted this could just be a one-off piece used for testing. What really piqued our interest was at the rear of the car where it has quad exhaust outlets that are used on the ZL1. Could this be the LS7-powered Camaro that we reported on back in December?
