1971 Chevrolet Cheyenne Swb on 2040-cars
Cape Coral, Florida, United States
I purchased this truck a year ago with the intention to completely restore it. Unfortunately I am relocating in the next few months and will not have the room or the time. With little time and money this truck could be a great full restore project. The frame and body are very solid with minimal rust. I tried to show all areas in photos. The engine runs strong and the transmission shifts good. It is a manual three speed, column shift. It has factory a/c which does not work. The compressor kicks on but no cold air. Most of the rubber is good except for the door sills and felts. They are still intact, just old. The interior is in good shape. The dash has never been cut. The stereo is new and is from Retro Sound. It uses the same factory cut outs. The bed is used and looks like it. Minor surface rust. Just dings and dents on the bed floor like a pickup this age should have. This is a very rare Chevrolet to find in this condition. Especially a manual 3 speed with factory a/c. Tires are in good shape and have 3/4 life left.
I WILL NOT SHARE THE RESERVE PRICE. This will be a true auction. Buyer is responsible for shipping. I will help drive truck to nearby location and load it. I also reserve the right to end this auction at any time due to the fact that this vehicle is at various car shows locally and if the right offer comes along i will sell. The title is free and clear and will remain in my hands until i receive full cleared payment. Vehicle is being sold as is with no warranty or guarantee of any kind. Thanks for looking. |

GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics
Mon, 20 Aug 2012After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.

Was the C7 Corvette cut from Beyonce's Super Bowl halftime show?
Tue, 05 Feb 2013Someone was bound to receive a free 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray during the Super Bowl XLVII festivities; it just wasn't who we thought it was going to be. Despite a report back in December that superstar Beyoncé Knowles would be getting an all-new Corvette during her halftime performance, that turned out not to be the case. Joe Flacco, starting quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, did in fact win a Corvette for his MVP performance.
So what transpired that prevented Beyoncé from rolling on stage in the new Chevrolet? Anyone who knows isn't telling, but according to Yahoo! Autos, General Motors said that for one reason or another a deal "did not work out," and it appears to have been an eleventh-hour change. Regardless of who's to blame or what prevented this from happening, we're sure Chevy has had no problems getting attention for the C7 Corvette since it was introduced last month.
Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works
Fri, 22 Mar 2013When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.
