1972 Chevrolet C10 Bagged On 22's on 2040-cars
Saint Marys, Georgia, United States
1972 Chevy C10 bagged on 22's. The air suspension and wheels have 500 miles on them. The motor is a mid-90's V8(350). The truck has a trangulated 4 link in the rear and the front has Air Ride Technologies tubular lower control arms and a set of drop spindles. The mileage of the truck is unknown since the motor is not original but it runs good and does not smoke. The air suspension is filled via an engine driven compressor and a 9 gallon air tank. This means very quick fill times and no annoying electric air compressors. It is currently wired with a 4 switch set up but has the ability to be changed to more (It has 8 valves). The interior could use some work and there is some rust in the rockers. The truck is not a show winner but it is a solid cruiser with potential to be more. I have described this as honestly as possible and the truck is sold as is. I have a clear GA title to this truck. Payment in full and pick of the truck will be required no later than 10 days after the auction has ended. I will accept a cashier's check or money order. I will also accept a bank draft if you are trying to finance it but I will hold the truck for 10 days after I receive the payment to ensure the draft clears in my bank account. I prefer local pickup but if you decide to ship it that cost and trouble is 100% on the buyer. Shipping will be allowed 10 days after I receive payment to avoid scammers. Sorry I'm an honest person and that is all I want to deal with.

Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction
Sun, 17 Feb 2013It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.
Helicopter crashes on Top Gear Korea set while chasing Corvette ZR1
Mon, 11 Feb 2013The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.
Chevy confirms Corvette Stingray Convertible for Geneva
Thu, 07 Feb 2013Want proof that General Motors has increased global ambitions for its 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray? It's staging the world premiere of the model's convertible variant at the Geneva Motor Show early next month.
As previously rumored, the droptop rendered above will debut at the Swiss show, making its first appearance anywhere on March 5. According to Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet, the location makes sense because Corvette "...is an icon that has long been recognized and admired even in countries where it's never officially been offered."
While neither Chevrolet nor the Corvette has a major sales presence in Switzerland, the Bowtie's European headquarters is located in Zurich (about three hours to the northeast of Geneva) and GM has made it clear that it wants to build the Chevrolet brand up across Europe.
