You are bidding on a 1963 Corvair Coupe Monza 900.  It has 24,000 original miles bought in Franklin Square, NY and has never left town.I bought this car from an old man in town.  I don't know if he was the original owner.  It needed a ton of work. Let's start with the moto,r ,new carbs, exhaust dual off a 2013 Victory High Ball motorcycle flaired into the body ,points ,condensor, wires, cap ,rotor ,plugs, belt, gas sending unit ,break line from front to back,.valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, push rod tube seals , valve adjustment ,1962 Impala antennas that work, CB, CD  stereo, ipod ready;  built into it an old 60's train travel case that is removable so I didn't deface thew vehicle's dashboard, fog lights, tires are white walls in good condition, the rims are powder coated white, wheel skirts, breezes, a visor modifided to fit from a 1959 Chevy pick up, trunk pan ,floor pans ,new custom crazy carpet;  a custom paint job on the front end done by the Outer Limits Art Studio in Franklin Square NY. The inerior is intact . Plesae look at pics. Tinted windows 35%. There is some rust on the driver's door that need looking after and by the passenger back windshield. But over all the car is solid.  I've been using it as my every day car but it's time for it to go. I don't have anywhere to keep it over the winter and it deserves to be garaged. Ready to drive home ..Please e-mail me with any questions or call 516 652 5139 Bob.  Thanks for looking.

Mother's Day Suggestion No. 2,506

Thu, 02 May 2013

With Mother's Day coming up, we're always looking for new gift ideas to celebrate the occasion, but hot laps around a track might not be the best suggestion for Darius Khashabi. In a video posted on YouTube, Khashabi straps his mom into the passenger seat of his C6 Corvette Z06 for some laps around Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon Raceway) at "60 percent" with comical results.
Now this isn't the first time Mama Khashabi has gotten seat time in her son's car around a track, as his YouTube page shows him pulling a similar stunt - with similar results - around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last year. Scroll down for the video, but know that the action really gets going at around the 1:40 mark.

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.

GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics

Mon, 20 Aug 2012

After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.
Scroll down for the official NHTSA statement.
