ONE OF THE LOWEST MILE CORVAIRS LEFT 1969 CORVAIR MONZA 500 SPORT COUPE ONLY 103 ORIGINAL MILES SINCE BUILT Just arrived, this amazing car was purchased by James Hardina of Sebastopol, California at Pellini Chevrolet. 1969 was the last year for the Corvair and James bought this one and put it up to keep. A 60 year old farmer in Sonoma County, we are not quite sure why he loved this car, but it remained with his family until sold to Owner #2 in 2002. After a short ownership, it was sold to Georgia Owner #3 in 2003 with only 13 miles. Driven sparingly by Owner #3 over the last eleven years, the odometer now shows 103 actual miles. We have completely refreshed this Corvair trophy car and now it is ready to its next owner... We have the original sales purchase order, window sticker, manual, California temp tag, Protect-o-plate and insurance documents. We are not sure, but can speculate that due to the original lacquer paint fading and crazing, the car at some point received and excellent dual stage repaint in its original Olympic Gold. All chrome was removed. Mint original Black vinyl bucket seat interior, carpet and headliner. Factory seat belts including shoulder belts. We just complete a full detail and its paint is beautiful. Mint original chrome, badging and stainless trim throughout. Equipped with the original 110HP six cylinder engine and matching original three speed manual transmission... Mint factory wheel covers and brand new whitewall radials (Original tires are bagged and come with the car)

Thu, 02 May 2013With Mother's Day coming up, we're always looking for new gift ideas to celebrate the occasion, but hot laps around a track might not be the best suggestion for Darius Khashabi. In a video posted on YouTube, Khashabi straps his mom into the passenger seat of his C6 Corvette Z06 for some laps around Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon Raceway) at "60 percent" with comical results.
Now this isn't the first time Mama Khashabi has gotten seat time in her son's car around a track, as his YouTube page shows him pulling a similar stunt - with similar results - around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last year. GM recalling over 243,000 crossovers over possible seat belt defect

The summer of 2010's recall hit parade continues unabated today, with General Motors having just announced that it is asking 243,403 owners of its 2009-2010 Lambda crossovers to bring their three-row haulers in for inspection. The culprit? Second-row seat belts in select Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook CUVs have "failed to perform properly in a crash."
According to GM, a second-row seat-side trim piece is to blame, as it can impede the upward rotation of the buckle after the seat is folded flat. As a result, if the buckle makes contact with the seat frame, cosmetic damage can occur, potentially requiring additional force to operate the buckle properly. So far, no great shakes, but in the process of applying that additional force, the occupant may push the buckle cover down to the strap, potentially revealing and depressing the red release button. As a result of this, the belt may not latch, or in certain cases, it may actually appear to be latched when, in fact, it isn't.

Thu, 13 Dec 2012Today was a pretty big day for General Motors, debuting the all-new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickup trucks ahead of their official showcase at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. And now that the dust has settled at GM's big reveal event, we've had a chance to snap dozens of photos of the new pickup pair from every angle.
We already told you the important bits earlier today (click here in case you missed it), but let's recap. Under the hood are three new engines - a 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 (you know, a version of the small-block that'll also be found under the hood of the C7 Corvette), all mated to six-speed automatic transmissions. The 2014 model year marks the return of the Z71 off-road package with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and beefier underbody protection. Inside, there's a host of new technology and a greater focus on better quality and refinement.
Some of the nitty-gritty specifics (like engine output numbers and fuel economy) have yet to be revealed, and since we haven't driven the finished products yet, it's hard to say how these trucks will fare against rivals like the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150. For now, we can only judge these two books by their covers, and while we do like the designs of the new trucks, we Autoblog staffers are torn on exactly which one looks best.
