Here we have a 1971 Corvette convertible with the original base motor, Power Steering, Power Brakes and power windows. I'm selling the vehicle for my father in law, he is computer illiterate, but wants to get rid of some of his toys so here we go! He purchased this Corvette in 2009 from the second owner who had it since 1974. I will be happy to give the name of the previous owner to the buyer of this nice car. He only drove it in the summer all of those years and like wise with my father in law. I believe it to be the correct mileage. Numbers matching car with the same transmission and rear end. The second owner hated the original color, Brands Hatch Green, so he had it painted Marlboro Maroon some thirty five years ago. There are cracks in the paint in the front of the car and some on the doors. This is a no-hit body with a very solid frame. There is some surface rust on the frame that would be common for a 42 year car, but structurally it is 100 percent. All front end and rear suspension control arms and bushings were replaced in 1995 to the tune of $1,871. dollars. A $600. tune up and general going over was performed in 2009 when he purchased the vehicle. If your looking for a great driver with tons of upside investment potential this is your car. Chevrolet Malibu gets across-the-board price cuts, hopes to dig out of slump
Mon, 11 Feb 2013To say that things aren't going well for the newly redesigned 2013 Chevrolet Malibu is a pretty sizable understatement. Reports have been swirling about the Malibu getting an emergency design refresh, less than a year after its introduction, as well as having its production at the Fairfax Assembly Plant halted twice already this year for excessive inventory. Now, Motor Trend is reporting that the midsize sedan will be receiving price drops across the board ranging from $300 on a number of models up to $770 on the 1LT trim; offsetting some of MSRP drop, though, the destination charge has increased from $760 to $810.
Without destination, the entry-level Malibu LS now starts at $21,995, which is still about $300 more than a Honda Accord and about $300 less than the segment's top-selling Toyota Camry. This new pricing also drops the price of the Eco, 2LT and 3LT trims by $300. The LTZ trim has dropped by $415, meaning that the Malibu's top dog now starts at just under $30,000, excluding destination.

Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues
Wed, 28 Dec 2011'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.
Corvette Stingray Convertible images mysteriously appear on web, so we add our own
Tue, 22 Jan 2013It was inevitable that we'd see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray topless at some point, but that didn't make us any less interested when a pair of supposedly leaked official images showed up on theautoinsiderblog.com last week. We posted them on our Facebook page, but held off reporting on them here until we could get a little more information.
Those images, which feature a dark red car on a sterile black studio background, supposedly first appeared on the website of diecast model maker Maisto. A Chevrolet spokesman has been reported saying that they are "not official images released by Chevrolet PR," which isn't a denial they're the real deal, but neither is it a confirmation.
Close examination of the photos suggest they could be official shots of the Corvette Stingray Convertible, and while some have doubted their authenticity due to a lack of vents (which were seen on the C7s that debuted in Detroit last week), it could be that the images are of a base model car without the Z51 package that doesn't require the extra venting and cooling.
