This is a low mileage "hot" Vette physically and mechanically excellent with four "new" Run-flat tires. I also installed a new Interstate battery and had preventative maintainance performed which included new spark plugs and wires, fuel injectors, and drive-belts for a total cost of $1,772.00.
CONDITION PROS: All carpet and leather in this non-smoking Vette, including the drivers seat, is in excellent condition without splits, tears or stains. Both headlight motors and actuators were replaced by a Corvette dealer in 2005. The green heads-up display works perfectly and is a delight to use, as are all the working gauges and information displays. This gorgeous, stunning, low mileage, 12 year old Corvette is in near perfect condition for either the discriminating collector or entry level sports car enthusiast. The rear mounted, remote, 12 CD player is in perfect working order as is the cruise control. Other assessories including AM/FM radio, driver key memory package, alarm system, 16 position power driver sport seat, power leather passenger seat, cruise control, all power equipment, tilt/telescoping steering wheel and a rocking, wrap-around Bose sound system are in electronically topnotch condition.
The recent, February 26, 2013, professionally-detailed interior, exterior, and engine room make this a showroom beauty for the most discriminating owner!
CONDITION CONS: One custom chrome wheel has some bubbling in the chrome plate, the front right wheel air pressure sensor is not working and the small dash-board lever knob controlling the brightness of the heads-up display is missing. Of the two factory button entry fobs (a remote entry that hangs on your key), one is missing.

Why the Corvette's Performance Data Recorder can be illegal in some states
Fri, 26 Sep 2014The Performance Data Recorder with Valet Mode available on the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray seems like a fantastic tool for many owners. Whether they are taking 720p video while lapping the track in their new 'Vette, or just want to protect their purchase from inconsiderate joyriders, the system offers a lot of functionality in one package. However, one of the PDR's features might get buyers in trouble with the law, and it has nothing to do with recording some illicit high-speed driving on a favorite back road. The problem hinges on the various state laws concerning a person's right to privacy.
According to a letter posted by Jalopnik, Chevy dealers are asking 2015 Corvette owners not to use the Valet Mode portion of the PDR because it records audio in the cabin, in addition to performance specs. That's a problem because privacy laws vary from state to state with some requiring just one side's consent to tape sound and others requiring all parties to agree. According Jalopnik, 15 states mandate everyone's permission beforehand, but it's not clear whether these numbers are up to date. (Actually, the report varies, saying 13 states in some places and 15 in a list.)
According to the letter, Chevy is already working on a software update for the near future to rectify the issue. It's possible that simply adding a warning to drivers and the ability to turn off the audio recording function in Valet Mode might solve the problem. Obviously, this doesn't preclude Corvette drivers from using the performance aspect of the PDR, and owners are free tape lap after lap at the track.
GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories
Wed, 06 Feb 2013As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.
GM recalling nearly 4,000 vehicles over airbag concerns
Thu, 31 Jan 2013Four different General Motors vehicles from the 2012 model year are being recalled over a potential airbag issue. The driver's side airbag shorting bar in the 2012 Buick Verano and 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, Cruze and Sonic might make contact with the airbag terminals, even during a crash. If so, the airbag won't deploy when it should, possibly increasing injury to the driver.
The recall is expected to begin on February 13 for the 3,896 units that might be affected. GM will notify owners who can then take their vehicles to dealers to have the airbag coil replaced. A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below has more info.
