I am selling my 1984 Corvette Targa with 77,000 miles on it. It runs, drives and stops great. It has the original, numbers matching 5.7 litre motor backed with an automatic transmission. I would get in this car and drive it anywhere. It has the RARE sport cloth interior that makes this one of less than 500 c4 corvettes made in this, its first year of production, 1984. The car has the original paint on it, though it is sunfaded a little, it still looks good. The car has never been wrecked and the underneath of it is clean with no rust. The seats are in great shape, with no rips or tears. There are two tops with the car ... glass and painted. The glass top has some weather checking in it, but is the top I currently run in the car. The painted top has the typical GM headliner sagging that is easily fixed. The tires are about 90%. The car is mechanically perfect, but as with any 30 year old car there are a few small issues. The A/C does not work, may just need a charge. The power antenna needs a new mast, so I currently have the fuse out of it to stop the antenna motor from running constantly. The tach lights up, but does not work. This is pretty common on the corvettes, and can be sent out and fixed for about 150 i'm told. The interior shows some wear, but is very respectable for a 30 year old car. The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. If you are local, you are more than welcome to inspect the car with appointment. This is a great looking, fun to drive car that you could come pick up and drive home anywhere.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
GM recalling nearly 4,000 vehicles over airbag concerns
Thu, 31 Jan 2013Four different General Motors vehicles from the 2012 model year are being recalled over a potential airbag issue. The driver's side airbag shorting bar in the 2012 Buick Verano and 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, Cruze and Sonic might make contact with the airbag terminals, even during a crash. If so, the airbag won't deploy when it should, possibly increasing injury to the driver.
The recall is expected to begin on February 13 for the 3,896 units that might be affected. GM will notify owners who can then take their vehicles to dealers to have the airbag coil replaced. A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below has more info.
