United States

For auction is my father's collection of 3 1959 Chevrolet El Caminos.  They are in different stages of condition from driver, fixer and parts car.  They are located in his heated garage in Wisconsin.  He has titles for all three and has no liens on cars.  Please email me with any questions, I'll be happy to find out the answer.

       Driver '59 ElCamino
  • Have good Wisconsin title
  • Spent most of its life in Florida
  • I bought it about 10 years ago - kept it in my heated garage
  • 6 cylinder with power glide transmission - runs and drives good
  • Solid body -  straight as an arrow
  • No rust through anywhere on the body - several rust bumps on front of hood about the size of a pea
  • Good paint job - no dents or scratches - red with a white top and tail
  • At some time years ago, it was rust proofed - floor pans and supports and all under carriage solid with no rust
  • Interior clean - new black carpet, bottom of seat has been replaced, back of driver's seat is separating
  • Missing headliner, but headliner wires come with car
  • Has upgraded Bel-Aire steering wheel - door panels look good
  • Newer AM-FM radio now in place - original radio  comes with car
  • Now has whitewall tires with dog dish hubcaps and trim rings - 4 Impala wheel covers included
  • Bed is the best I have ever seen - absolutely solid, no rust, good paint with no scratches, almost no dings on inside wheel wells, one spot on bottom of the bed about he size of a business card where the paint has peeled off, showing galvanizing under it
  • Stainless trim, grille and bumpers in near perfect shape -  all glass good - windows work well
  • Tail gate looks and works well - tail light lenses good
  • Has to be one of the best 1959 El Caminos available

Rebuildable / project '59 El Camino
  • Great '59 ElCamino for restoration -
  • Good Wisconsin title
  • Good straight solid body and frame
  • Was a vehicle from New Mexico I bought 12 years ago
  • I have had it stored in my heated garage
  • Missing engine, AC, seat, and floor mat
  • Has tilt steering column installed
  • Front floor panels solid, rust in rear floor pans
  • Tail gate works well - bed has a little rust - good tail light lenses
  • Has turbo glide transmission and drive train
  • Windshield and one side window cracked - have new replacement side window glass
  • Wing vent windows have etching of Elvis - have  new replacement vent window glass
  • Stainless trim all there and good condition with a few 'dings' - bumpers dull, but no rust or dents
  • Was originally outfitted with most all "bells and whistles including 348, Turbo Glide, power brakes, power steering, power windows,  power seat, autronic eye light dimmer, and 2 tone paint - possibly may have been a GM company car built for plant manager.

        Parts Car '59 ElCamino

  • Complete parts car
  • Good Wisconsin title
  • We bought this in 1966, drove it, and are the second owner
  • Original owner was a "gentleman farmer" who used it to take a bale or two of hay out to his cows in the wet pasture.
  • Frame is rusted through behind rear wheel driver's side -
  • Good doors that are not rusted out
  • Good glass except for cracked passenger side window
  • Stainless trim good including side spears and trim around bed
  • Has a 283 V-8 with power glide and a non slip differential (apparently hard to find)
  • Original mileage is 70K
  • Has "radio delete" panel with no radio
  • Tail light lens on passenger side cracked - other is good
  • Shows what a Wisconsin El Camino looks like when it is not rust proofed -

GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC

Sun, 06 Oct 2013

American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.

Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future

Wed, 19 Nov 2014

The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
