1966 Chevy Chevelle El Camino Rebuilt 350, Brand New Interior on 2040-cars
Andover, Massachusetts, United States
Runs and drives, in great shape. Fast and fun as hell. Clean MA title, inspection sticker good until August. Needs some minor stuff to be great. Listed problems are why I am listing the car at ~$3K under book value.
90,120 on the car. The 5.7L 350 engine is out of a late 1960's corvette, and was rebuilt by previous owner, and it only has about 16K miles on it. I just finished restoring the new black interior, including brand new scat pro bucket seats, new 80/20 premium black carpet, new dash pad, new dash strip, new grant steering wheel, console trim, all new knobs and buttons in chrome, new dash bezel surround, new gas gauge, new speedometer cable, new arm rests, new arm rest pads, new custom back wall covered in vinyl, new kick panels, etc. Also Brand New: Dynomax stainless header back dual-exhaust system, new battery, new ignition switch, new exterior door locks, new water neck housing and seal, new 180 F thermostat, and just did a radiator cleaning/flush. Bad: -Car starts and is driveable, but could use an updated dash wiring harness or wiring work for dash wiring. Gauge cluster lights are not going on. Shop estimated a new wiring harness and installation at $800. -has some minor bubbling on the driver door and under the back window. No rust through. - steering column gear indicator needs to be replaced. Spring snapped off during removal of the dash. -new radio/cd player not installed, the style is not what i wanted so I left it out (it is included) |

Are you the 2014 Corvette Grand Sport?
Thu, 21 Feb 2013When are stripes more than just stripes? Follow up question: Is the product development team at Chevrolet really cocky enough to hide the next C7 Corvette variant in plain sight? This very recently spotted, and ostensibly obscured C7 asks a lot more questions than it answers, but there's at least some evidence to support that it might be the next Corvette Grand Sport.
The first and most obvious tip-off that something is up with this 'Vette revolves around those silver stripes. Obviously the stripes themselves don't necessarily denote a new model. However, when Chevy recently launched its "colorizer" website for the Stingray, there was no provision made for racing stripes - solid colors only.
Grand Sport exhibit number two is actually an incriminating lack of badges. The production Corvettes we've seen to date have all carried Stingray badges on their fenders, just behind the vent. The car seen in these images has no such badges, which is an intriguing omission on an car that looks like a production-spec vehicle otherwise.
Chevy SS prototype spotted wearing Pontiac G8 clothes
Tue, 28 Aug 2012
Do not adjust your computer screen, you are not seeing the rebirth of the Pontiac brand. General Motors has chosen to use a G8 to disguise a test mule for the latest prototype of the forthcoming Chevrolet SS. The G8 was closely related to the Holden Commodore and Vauxhall VXR, the platform upon which the new Chevrolet performance model will be based. It should come as little surprise, then, that GM has opted to use the cladding from the former G8.
Thought the front clip of this mule is pure Pontiac, note the vents immediately behind the front wheel. That is a distinctive design hallmark of the Vauxhall VXR. Also note that this vehicle is right-hand drive, as the Holden and its Chevy counterpart will be very closely related. That likely includes potential drivetrains. The spy photos of this mule also reveal very wide rear tires, and rear wheels that do not match the fronts.
Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.
