3 DAY AUCTION ONLY!!!  Ok guys, heres one you wont believe, an actual one owner, low mile El Camino. Yes you read that right, one owner, check out the pic of the original title. It shows the mileage at the time it was titled at 3107 with NO previous title number so it must have been a demonstrator car for the dealership in order to have only 3000 miles. This is a great find, these don't come along everyday so don't miss out. This car belonged to an older man since new. The car came out from the factory  with a mahogany metallic color on it but the gentleman said he always wanted a gold El Camino so he had it painted many years ago. It looks to have been a good job back then because inside the doors, hood etc shows very little of the original color showing. The car evidently had no rust at that time because what very little rust that's on the car now is new, nothing coming back from any previous repair. The car has been stored inside a building the whole time he owned it and even after his passing. It has only been out in the weather the last few days. Its been several years since it was licensed and on the road, I think 03 was the last year but not absolutely sure about that. The car was very well taken care of all its life guys, no junk here. The engine I am told is the original 350 it came out with as well as the same for the trans. The engine starts right up and although its a little cold natured from needing the choke adjusted, it sits there and idles smooth and quiet, no lifter noise or any other noise. The trans seems to shift just fine. Ive only run this car on stands in my garage because of no tags or insurance on it and it also needs a complete check up before putting it on the road for a long trip, remember its been in storage awhile. The car has air conditioning but im sure its gonna need charged up but everything is there guys no missing parts at all. This El Camino even still has the old heavy, original catalytic converter on it with single exhaust. The brakes feel pretty for a car that's been sitting a lot as this one has. Probably need gone through before being road worthy. The paint on this car looks worse in the pics that it actually is. The car was clear coated when it had the color change and its coming off quite a bit. There is some light surface rust on the top and some on the hood but nothing major. There is only 2 or 3 rust holes in the body guys and they are very  minor. Theres one in front and one behind the drivers side rear tire. Think there may be another very small hole somewhere but cant remember where. Tried to show everything in the pics so look at them closely. There are a few small area places where there is surface rust but nothing major. What rust holes that are in the car are all since the car was painted gold, nothing repaired prior to that. There are a few small dents and dings as in guessing the old gentleman didn't drive as well in his later years. Nothing major and they would all be an easy fix, check out the pics of these also. The bed floor has some surface rust but don't thing theres any rust through. The floor pans are pretty good, think one has been repaired but it looks to be a good job. The others may have a little rust but are solid. Front fenders are good, doors are good, and only one quarter panel has a very small amount or rust as earlier stated. The bumpers are very straight but have a little chrome peeling. All the lights work also guys. The hood has a small dent on the high spot in the middle of it but nothing major. The passenger side hood hinge is weak and therefore it let the corner come down and crack the windshield but I have a nice used one I will let go with the car. The hood works fine you just have to be careful when opening it. All the other glass is good and work fine. Interior is pretty nice for a 76 model. The pictures show the interior to look black and dirty but its not, its just the way it showed up in the pics. The seat is nice, door panels are pretty good, it has a hard dash cap on it also. Carpet is good driver quality. Headliner is also nice guys. The El Camino has 15 inch rally wheels with all the trim rings and center caps on them. The tires have good tread but have some dry rot. Guys don't miss out on this rare one owner, low mileage El Camino. The car is one that can be driven as you restore it or you can probably have it ready to paint in about 3 days, its that good guys. Checkout the pics, especially the one of the original title that shows it is a one owner. One owner, low miles, don't find these everyday. This car may look rough in some of the pics but it actually is not. The peeling clear coat makes it look bad but that's an easy fix. As stated earlier you could have this car ready for paint in just a few days.. This is a great find so don't miss out. Ask any questions you may have before bidding. If you have less than 10 positive feedback you must contact me before bidding or I wilo cancel your bid. I also reserve the right to end the auction early should it sell locally. The buy it now is very reasonable for a one owner, low mile El Camino. Thanks for reading my novel and good luck should you decide to bid on this rare car.

On May-24-14 at 08:37:29 PDT, seller added the following information:

Not sure where the 1979 came from on this auction, I cant seem to remove it for some reason but the car is a 1976 El Camino,NOT a 79. Also the frame is in great condition. Left front fender in pic is just scratched not dented as it may appear to some.

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.

2014 Chevy Silverado priced from *$24,585, V8 gets better economy than Ford EcoBoost V6

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

Chevrolet has thrown down the next hand in the pickup truck poker wars and revealed at least a couple of potential aces - depending on which numbers matter most to you. The 2014 2014 Silverado 1500 with its 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 gets 335 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, is mated to a six-speed automatic, can tow 11,500 pounds with the optional Max Trailer Package and costs the same as the outgoing Silverado, $24,585 (*including $995 destination fee). Chevy says the Silverado also stands atop the fuel economy charts when comparing any competitor with a V8 engine - and some competitors with V6 engines. The two-wheel drive model returns 16 miles per gallon city, 23 mpg highway, 19 mpg combined in two-wheel drive guise and 16 mpg city, 22 mpg highway and 18 mpg combined as a four-wheel drive.
For context around those numbers, the most fuel efficient V8-powered 2013 Ford F-150 pickups lose about two mpg in every metric compared to the Silverado, the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost returning 16 city, 18 highway and 22 combined in two-wheel drive. However, that EcoBoost does have 365 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. You can get a Ram 1500 with a 3.6-liter V6 that gets 25 mpg highway, but it has 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. The 2013 Ram with the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 and its 395 hp and 407 lb-ft drops one mpg in every category to the Silverado. Its tow rating is 200 pounds beyond its nearest competitor, the F-150 with the Max Trailer Tow Package.
Elsewhere, the new Silverado gets a quieter cab with a redesigned interior, a new bed with improved load-management possibilities, disc brakes all around, tweaked steering and suspension, along with free standard scheduled maintenance for two years or 24,000 miles.
