You are bidding on a fully customized 1978 El Camino. Custom paint on body and frame. 350 V8 engine auto trans ,headers dual exhaust , aluminum radiator,20 inch wheels in all 4 corners.This car is custom in and out up and down.Car was a built around 4 years ago and new odometer reads 2400 + miles.Engine and transmission were reportedly crate or rebuilt at that time,but no documentation to back that up. This vehicle has no hood,no door handles,no heater or air conditioner.Push button key fob to open doors and also has custom wood bed floor.Drivers window needs minor adjustment and sometimes slips going up but always goes up with help if not on it's own. It has a radio, speakers but i have yet to figure out how to operate it.Vehicle runs and drives as normal. I would best describe this car as a 15 to 20 footer.The paint is smooth and shiney but as you get close you may start to see some imperfections.No visible rust but some minor,honestly almost unnoticeable bubbling down low in front of rear wheels most people will never see.The interior is custom but i would consider it an amature job. Fewer than 1 in 3 Chevy dealers earn right to initially sell C7 Corvette
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Looking to make the launch of the 2014 Corvette Stingray as efficient as possible, Chevrolet will be limiting the numbers of its dealers that can sell the all-new coupe and convertible. According to Automotive News, sales of the C7 Corvette will initially be limited to less than a third of Chevy's total dealership network when the 'Vette goes on sale this summer.
Only 900 dealers out of more than 3,000 locations nationwide will be allowed to sell the new Corvette at first, and the reason for this is so that there are no shortages at dealers that can actually get the cars sold. The article says that the 900 dealerships chosen represented 80 percent of total Corvette sales in 2012.
Some of the requirements dealers had to make to get initial allocation of Stingray sales include having sold at least four Corvettes in 2012 and having a Corvette Stingray specialist who will be required to have gone through a training session costing more than $2,000 per attendee. Once demand for the 2014 Corvette Stingray begins to subside - approximately six to nine months after it goes on sale - then allocation could open up to more dealers, but the report indicates this could happen following the 2014 model year.
Chevy confirms Corvette Stingray Convertible for Geneva
Thu, 07 Feb 2013Want proof that General Motors has increased global ambitions for its 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray? It's staging the world premiere of the model's convertible variant at the Geneva Motor Show early next month.
As previously rumored, the droptop rendered above will debut at the Swiss show, making its first appearance anywhere on March 5. According to Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet, the location makes sense because Corvette "...is an icon that has long been recognized and admired even in countries where it's never officially been offered."
While neither Chevrolet nor the Corvette has a major sales presence in Switzerland, the Bowtie's European headquarters is located in Zurich (about three hours to the northeast of Geneva) and GM has made it clear that it wants to build the Chevrolet brand up across Europe.
