So there's more in the motor and tranny than the asking price...Motor is a rebuilt all work done in the last 3 years including Crower cam and roller rockers 350, being fed by an Edlebrock polished alum carb, and performer intake. It's cooled by a brand new radiator with stock but new clutch fan, and an electric fan in the front. The transmission was rebuilt to handle the extra horsepower, and shift respectibaley when required....it's fast! Has a B&M Slap shifter, but can easily be converted back to column...The seats are gray leather electric, with center console, of course not stock. The stereo will easily drive you out of the car unless you are already deaf...Rims and tires are American Racing 17" with performance tires easily over $2k invested and over 90% tread left. The exhaust is sweet, handles great with the big tires, get's lot's of looks. Very reliable daily driver, has been to Vegas a few times, just did a 100+ mile trip with no issue's. Bumpers are straight, body is sweet other than a few spots where the paint popped from the primer, and the drivers side headlight surround is buggered up. Could use a carpet kit, but the headliner is cherry. The bed is rust free, but there is a little on the driver's side floorboard easily fixed with a patch panel, not the whole thing. Great driver project, as you can see looks great from a distance. I just went over the whole car with 320 wetsand, and these are the pic's, so what you see is what you get. I just bought a "New" Reproduction fender extension to repair the only dent on the car, I already have the bezels, and the missing piece of chrome trim around the grill. I also have the missing passenger side mirror, and SS badging for the fenders. I am still looking for a wing window crank on the driver side, I have the old one but it's busted in the middle...JB weld? Probably have the hood fixed before it's sold as I'm taking it to the El Cajon car show on thursday...gotta have fun!

UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."

Corvette Stingray Convertible images mysteriously appear on web, so we add our own

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

It was inevitable that we'd see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray topless at some point, but that didn't make us any less interested when a pair of supposedly leaked official images showed up on theautoinsiderblog.com last week. We posted them on our Facebook page, but held off reporting on them here until we could get a little more information.
Those images, which feature a dark red car on a sterile black studio background, supposedly first appeared on the website of diecast model maker Maisto. A Chevrolet spokesman has been reported saying that they are "not official images released by Chevrolet PR," which isn't a denial they're the real deal, but neither is it a confirmation.
Close examination of the photos suggest they could be official shots of the Corvette Stingray Convertible, and while some have doubted their authenticity due to a lack of vents (which were seen on the C7s that debuted in Detroit last week), it could be that the images are of a base model car without the Z51 package that doesn't require the extra venting and cooling.

GM to make most cars LTE hotspots for 2015

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

General Motors isn't the first automaker to deliver in-car Internet access, but a proposed plan announced today could make the technology more widespread than any of its competitors have offered. By the 2015 model year, most Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac and GMC products in the US and Canada will offer 4G LTE mobile broadband access. Initially, GM will just be pairing with AT&T to deliver this service, but additional carriers will be revealed in the future.
Current in-car Wi-Fi hot spots are limited to 3G, but GM says that 4G LTE is 10 times faster than 3G service and will allow for full Internet access, including streaming video for entertainment as well as services like real-time traffic updates and navigation driving directions. There is also no need for a paired smartphone with this new system, which should make it easier to use, and GM and AT&T will also be working together to develop new apps for customers.
Buyers can expect to start seeing 4G LTE in their cars starting next year, and GM is already planning to expand the service to other global markets as well. All of the information from GM's announcement is posted in a press release below.
