Rear end has strange axles with a posi/ 373 gears."

What we have here is a real nice 68 Elky. I was told by the previous owner, who owns a body shop that its a ten yr old resto. Looking at it I'd say yes.  Heres the deal: rebuilt 2spd pwr glide/ everything is there. New $3000.00 rear end. ( strange axles, posi-373 gears) no rust. It does NOT have your typical rust areas.  It has a 78-81 SBC but it retains old school points, cap, condenser , cap and rotor. A Q-jet carb. The pictures are before I started taking it a part to really detail it. The lower front fenders need attention behind the tires.  I'm replacing the pass side inner fender well. I'm replacing the header panel.

It will need some things that I'm fixing now: dash board bezel, seat covers, complete new fastener set for the front clip,
Car runs and drives well.  She now has perfect 14's with full wheel covers and i will include a set of dog dish COPO style caps. I'm looking to put 15x6,7, or 8's rally's on her.  A real nice cruiser.
Comes with a complete counsel shift. Everything works.
No typical rust on this car. It's a -2 on a scale of 1 through 4. Newer 2 1/2 inch dual exhaust. Under carriage you can eat off of. Included is a new header panel from year one. My loss, someone's gain. I've tried to describe it to the best of my ability. Email me with questions. If it does not sell before September I'm taking it to Mecum auction in October
Call me with any questions. Ill be happy to answer any and all. 847.867.9354 Paul

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

Chevy Corvette Stingray "colorizer" lets you chase the rainbow

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

After you've convinced your better half to let you buy a new Corvette, then comes the hard part... actually figuring out which 'Vette you want. While Chevrolet has yet to release the official configurator for the 2014 Corvette Stingray, it did give us something else to kill some time playing around with.
The C7 Corvette "colorizer" recently went online, and it lets you look at the car in all of its available colors and wheel options from four different angles so that when this car does go on sale, you know exactly which one you want. It includes the Corvette's full pallet of colors including Torch Red, Laguna Blue and the hue you see above, Velocity Yellow. Toss in the black wheels, and we're sold. If you have some time this afternoon, be sure to check it out the Corvette colorizer for yourself, and even if you don't have the time, we've put together a gallery with all of the possible color combinations.

Amelia Island 2013: Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray from concepts to split windows

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

While this year marks 60 years of the Chevrolet Corvette, the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance focused on one of the coupe's most sought after models, the 1963 Sting Ray. General Motors design boss Ed Welburn was on hand to show off the all-new C7 Corvette, but even the hard-edged styling of the 2014 Stingray couldn't take away from the beautiful 1963 models sitting out on the field.
In addition to the original Sting Ray and the 1959 Sting Ray Concept, some of the other classic 'Vettes included "Big Tank" racecars, an interesting cutaway coupe, a right-hand-drive Z06 and the attention-grabbing 1963 Corvette Rondine by Pininfarina. Another impressive Corvette was the 1964 Corvette XP-819 rear-engine prototype. Owner Mike Yager had the car finished as a driving chassis for this year's show, but promises the car will be back to its original glory in time for next year's event.
