Hi, I'm selling my California born , full frame off and completely restoreed 1965 Chevy Impala. This car is in show quality in and out. It just underwent an extensive $25k+ restoration. Below I will try and explain exactly what I see and know about this vehicle.
Starting with the Outside: Rust free and laser straight body. Painted a brilliant burgundy paint with about 3 gallons of clear. The car was striped with a nice mild design to help tie in the exterior and the interior. The striping is on top of the clear so can be removed with a simple buffing or maybe a light wet-sanding. All the chrome , emblems, bumpers, headlights, taillights, mirrors, rear antennas, parking lamp lenses, etc are brand new. All the exterior stainless was hand polished to a chrome like appearance and finish.
Interior: Brand new from top to bottom. There's new foam & seat covers, door panels, carpet & floor mats, armrests & bases, inner door handles, NOS radio delete plate, rear view mirror, sill plates, all window cranks, all pedal covers, e brake handle, chrome Ididit tilt steering column & Billet steering wheel, total redone dash, etc. All electrical is in proper working order. Aftermarket Pioneer sound system with all hidden speakers. ****Everything Done****
Motor & Transmission: New crate 350 motor with less than 1k miles on it. Full show quality engine compartment as you can see. Everything is chromed to a mirror perfection. Power steering & brakes , custom shaved firewall, cams , headers, etc.
Transmission is a 3 speed automatic that shifts with no problems.
Trunk: Zero rust, nicely speckle painted and topped off with a new trunk mat and jacking instructions decal.
Undercarriage: The whole under belly of this car is completely redone. All new exhaust front to back, new gas tank and fuel lines, all brakes front and rear have been gone through, and all new front-end kit installed.
Rims and tires: I have 3 different options for you. I have the 20inch Eagle rims that are new with 99% tire tread left that are presently on the car, a set of stock rims and brand new tires and an excellent set of SS hubcaps, or a set of triple gold 13 inch Daytons with newer tires. Whichever you prefer is up to you.
Above I've described this car to the best of my knowledge. Please serious offers only. I have no problem ending this listing early for the dollar amount but please be reasonable . This is not your everyday restoration. Please feel free to text or call me at 408-712-9427 or email the above posting if you have anymore questions.
Also, I have no problem selling overseas. Ive done so 25+ times so its not a problem.

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.

Why does the Corvette Stingray have so many vents? Here's why

Sun, 27 Jan 2013

Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.
If you have about five minutes and you can't get enough information about the new 'Vette, then check out the videos posted below.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
