YOU ARE ABOUT TO BID A SUPER CLEAN STRAIGHT 62 IMPALA SS CLONE. EXTERIOR COLOR IS FRESCO GREEN, ALL THE EXTERIOR TRIM HAS BEEN STRAITENED AND TRIPLE CHROME PLATED, ALL THE GLASS IS GOOD, AND THE BODY IS STRAIGHT AND LINES ARE GOOD. THE CAR WAS ORIGINALLY FROM CA SO ITS ROCK SOLID AND I FOUND IT IN WISCONSIN, IT WAS IN ROUGH SHAPE BUT SOLID, SO I DID A FRAME OFF RESTORATION AND BROUGHT IT BACK TO LIFE. THE FRAME IS FULLY WRAPPED WITH 1/4 INCH STEEL AND THE UPPER AND LOWER CONTROL ARMS ARE WRAPPED AND CHROME PLATTED. THE REAR END IS FROM BLACKMAGIC AS WELL AS THE WISHBONE AND THE REAR TRAILING ARMS. ALL GAS AND BRAKE LINES ON THIS CAR ARE STAINLESS STEELE AND THE BRAKES WERE UPGRADED TO POWER DISC IN THE FRONT. THE STEERING WAS UPGRADED TO A 605 POWER STEERING SETUP. THE CAR DRIVES GOOD. Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction

It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.

Helicopter crashes on Top Gear Korea set while chasing Corvette ZR1

The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.
