1965 Chevy, Impala, It is a 2 door coupe, not a SS car. The color is orchid with a clear coat and was repainted about 10 years ago and still looks very good. It shines up nice. The body is in great shape with no body dents. There is no rust on the car body or under the car. The motor is a chevy 350 with a mild crane cam with a Edelbrock carb. K&N air filter, Accel shorty spark plgs, Accel HEI dist. taylor plug wires, chrome valve covers, chrome Alternator, chrome power steering pump, chrome fan blade, Be Cool Aluminum radiator with a 180 deg. thermostat for the elect. fan. The car does not run hot ever. Chrome pulley, Hedmon chrome treated headers. Also a new NAPA 12V battery. circle track steering box. The 350 trany is a TCI street fighter with a shift kit with a trany. cooler in front of the rad. The shifter is a B&M mega shifter with a quick shift ratcher type cable shifter. It also has 2500 stall converter . The front end is a fat man with a 2 1/2 " drop with disk brakes. new front shocks and air shocks for the rear. The tires are BF Goodrich P235/60R15 on centerline brand chrome wheels. The rear tires are P205/65/15 B F Goodrich. The tires are like new with very little miles on them. The front end has had an alignment so the car tracks true. The interior has been redone with a tuck and roll soft leather type fabric with buttons so it looks the same from the factory. The radio is a Custom sound AM?FM?cassette player in the same spot that the stock radio was in on the dash. It has two Kenwood speakers in the back and two under the front seat. It has a Summit oil and temp gauge under the dash. There are neon lights under the car which really look cool at night. It has the original stock tire and jack in the trunk. I took out the old trunk mat and replaced it with black carpet. This is a very safe car to drive and would not be worried to take it on a cross country trip. The car has been kept in a garage and there is a calif. brand car cover that will go with the car.

Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner
Sat, 24 Aug 2013For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"
2015 Chevrolet Cruze spied on its home turf
Tue, 23 Apr 2013The next Chevrolet Cruze isn't set to go into production for about another year, and we're just now seeing prototypes of the new compact running around here in the States. Not much more has been revealed since we saw the car blasting through the snow in Europe, but we can still clearly see new design elements like the larger grille, slimmer headlamps and redesigned taillamps.
Our spy photographers worked up a composite image of this Cruze prototype alongside the current model, and here, we can clearly see some big visual changes are in store for the new model. The 2015 Cruze's hood slopes downward more dramatically, the windshield is more heavily raked, and the roofline looks more fluid overall. The next-generation Cruze will ride on the new global Delta platform that will also underpin other General Motors vehicles like the Chevrolet Volt and Equinox.
As for what's under the hood, we expect the normal range of gasoline four-cylinder engines (both naturally aspirated and turbocharged), and the compact's new turbodiesel four should carry over, as well. Have a look at the full brace of spy photos in the gallery above.
Kurt Busch to shake and bake (again) in Ricky Bobby car at Talladega
Sat, 19 Oct 2013Kurt Busch will channel Ricky Bobby for another NASCAR race, this time driving a Wonder-sponsored Chevrolet SS, in this weekend's Camping World RV Sales 500 at the Talladega Motor Speedway. Unlike past tie-ins, though, there's actually an element of sponsorship here (the "Me" car was done when Busch was running on a team without sponsorship).
It was arranged by Flower Foods, the new owner of the Wonder brand. Wonder was part of the bankrupt Hostess company, which temporarily exited the US market 2012, and set off the Great Twinkie Shortage.
Busch has made something of a habit of channeling characters from famous racing movies, most recently running Tom Cruise's City Chevrolet livery from Days of Thunder in a Nationwide Series race earlier this year. Busch kicked off his movie-inspired antics, though, at Talladega in 2012, when he raced El Diablo's ("It's like... Spanish for like a fighting chicken") "Me" car complete with a cougar on the hood. He even went so far as to channel the lovable idiot that is Ricky Bobby during the race, dropping a few catchphrases about macchiatos and slingshots.
