UP FOR AUCTION IS A 1976 CHEVY IMPALA 2 DOOR. THIS CAR IS IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE FOR ITS AGE AND BEING A ILLINOIS CAR. THE BODY HAS A COUPLE HALF DOLLAR RUST SPOTS BEHIND TIRES. THE DRIVERS DOOR HAS A DENT, THE FRONT BUMPER HAS SURFACE RUST, THE FRONT DRIVERS FENDER COWL IS CRACKED. THERE IS A RUST HOLE IN PASSENGER REAR FLOOR BOARD AROUND 4X4 INCHES IN DIAMETER. THE PAINT HAS CHIPS. THE VINYL TOP NEEDS TO BE REPLACED DUE TO WEATHER CRACKING. THE INTERIOR HAS WEAR: THE FRONT DRIVER SEAT IS SPLIT AND THE TOP OF THE REAR SEAT HAS WEAR. THE GLOVE BOX LOCK IS MISSING. THE CARPET NEEDS REPLACED AS WELL. THE VEHICLE HAS A 350 ENGINE AND AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. IT RUNS AND SHIFTS GOOD. I DID NOTICE THAT THE TRANSMISSION PAN LEAKS A LITTLE BIT OF FLUID UNTIL IT GETS WARM. THE ENGINE HAS AN EXHAUST LEAK AS WELL AND I BELIEVE IT IS THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER BECAUSE IT LOOKS RUSTED OUT. I HAVE DRIVEN THIS VEHICLE WITHIN A FEW MILES OF THE HOUSE AND THAT IS ABOUT IT. THE ODOMETER SHOWS 83337 MILES AND IM SURE THAT IS THE ACTUAL MILEAGE BECAUSE I TRIED BUYING THIS CAR 10 YEARS AGO FROM AN OLD MAN AND HE PASSED AWAY AND GAVE IT TO HIS GRANDSON. AFTER THAT HE PAINTED THE GREEN "FLAMES" ON THE FRONT END. THE VEHICLE HAS AMERICAN RACING WHEELS AND LIKE NEW TIRES. WITH A LITTLE TIME AND PATIENTS THIS CAR WOULD BE EXTREMELY NICE. The 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan is for drivers who value performance above all else
Sat, 16 Feb 2013The car you see above is the 2014 Chevrolet SS, and it's important both because it is the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from Chevy in 17 years, and because it will be the nameplate the brand uses on NASCAR tracks all across the country starting this year.
Though it wears a name as American as baseball and apple pie, the machine was actually designed and built in Australia, sharing most of its parts with the brand-new VF-model Holden Commodore. That said, the basic chassis bits are shared with other Chevrolet models like the Camaro and Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle.
While Chevrolet is happy to sell a Malibu or Impala to anyone looking for a mainstream family sedan, but the SS is reserved for buyers interested first and foremost in performance. Most sedans sold these days are front-wheel drive, which is great for everyday driving and when the weather goes bad, but the SS is instead a rear-wheel-drive vehicle aimed at enthusiasts who love to drive and who prefer speed and performance above all else.

Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:

Veyron and C7 Corvette join cast of Transformers 4
Wed, 29 May 2013Like the Fast & Furious franchise, the Michael Bay-directed series of Transformers movies has become known as much for its bad acting as its impressive lineup of cars. As filming just started for Transformers 4, Bay's website has confirmed two new cars for the next installment as well as a makeover for everyone's favorite tractor trailer hero, Optimus Prime.
Joining the cast of T4 are a "race-inspired" Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse. While Bay's website did not supply names for either car, Bugatti is reporting on its Facebook page that the Veyron will join the Autobots. Speaking of the good guys, top Autobot Optimus Prime is getting an all-new body based on a Western Star with a gaudy appearance that was seemingly inspired by Trick My Truck - right down to the six smoke stacks and side pipes!
