You will love the sound of this car with its true dual exhaust and headers.

Flawless polished aluminum rims with like new staggered tires put the muscle to the ground.

Great paint! RED with twin BLACK stripes. Car cover is included to protect this Beauty.

Windows crank perfectly and the kick panel vents open smoothly. Has new heater box w new heater controls, heater core and fan.

Gauges have been added and include oil pressure, amps, temperature and a tachometer (tach is built in the dash).

Stunning car in person these pictures were taken on a cloudy day and don’t do this beautiful beast justice.

Limited production of convertibles from this year make this a rare item and a hot item. I believe only 1,500 or less were made that year! This car is an investment that continues to gain value.

Jump on this before someone else does. Too cool and too fun, an unquestionable head turner.

History of the 1968-1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu

The second generation Malibu was really a fitting evolution of the original, and is the car most people think of when they hear “Malibu” and “Muscle Car” in the same sentence, though in truth, most of the high performance cars were lower spec Chevelles, as were the hot 396 SS versions. The Malibu had been firmly moved to the upscale Chevelle neighborhood. The two door sports coupe (hardtop) body style was semi-fastback, but not so “fastback” as to be unfashionable. Specialty shops in the guise of dealers turned out ultra-high performance versions of these cars, such as Yenko and Baldwin Motion SS427 Chevelles and Malibus starting in about 1969. Straight line performance was “everything” and many a Malibu shut down the competition in impromptu races between red lights both on Woodward Avenue and all across the proverbial fruited plain. Certainly, considering the Malibu line had only been introduced to the public a few short years prior, a sales rate of over 265,000 upscale versions of the Chevelle were nothing to sneeze at in 1968, and Malibu handily outsold the lower-spec Chevelle line.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible headed for Geneva debut

Mon, 28 Jan 2013

While most of the world is still coming down from all the hype surrounding the debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month, we're already looking to the future. And according to Autoweek, the next chapter in the C7 story will unfold at the Geneva Motor Show in March. That's right, General Motors is reportedly using the Swiss stage as its venue to debut the Corvette Stingray convertible.
If this strikes you as odd, you aren't alone. After all, with a car that's such an American icon, we'd fully expect Chevrolet to unveil it here on our shores in either Chicago or New York. But according to Autoweek, GM is looking to boost export sales of its halo car, and since the C7 was engineered to compete with the world's best and brightest, showing it off in Geneva is somewhat of a smart move. What's more, those with sharp memories will recall that GM used the Geneva expo to debut the sixth-generation C6 Corvette convertible back in March 2004, so there's also a precedent.
Details surrounding the Corvette Stingray convertible are still slim, though we fully expect the 6.2-liter V8 and choice of either six-speed automatic or seven-speed manual transmissions to carry over unchanged. Prototypes spotted on the road showed the car fitted with a cloth convertible roof, as well.

Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.

GM says hybrid Corvette no laughing matter [w/poll]

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

When Mark Reuss was in LA recently, he sat down to have a few words with the scribes at the Los Angeles Times. When the issue of a hybrid Corvette came up, Reuss answered with "Don't laugh." The General Motors president is a complete fan of the possibility, calling it "attractive" and "really fun," believing it would improve GM expertise and that "people would love it."
Naturally, the president being supportive of an idea doesn't give indication that a hybrid Corvette is on the way. However, with supercars like the Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari giving hybrid tech a solid, if remote, place in the performance car world, the inexorable trickle-down of technology means we shouldn't be surprised if and when it does happen.
And now that we have that non-negative half-answer to a speculative question, it would be irresponsible for us not to commence rumormilling for the C8 Corvette. Taking Reuss at his word, the C8 will obviously be a hybrid with all-wheel-drive - the left side wheels driven with electric motors, the right side with the mid-mounted, four-cylinder diesel engine. With coefficient of drag of just .16, figure on a 0-to-60 mile-per-hour time of under 2 seconds and an all-electric range of something like 30 miles at top speed. Don't forget, folks, you read it here first.
