1974 Monte Carlo Landau Edition

This is a one owner, Kansas vehicle. Ready dont want to sell it, because Im in love with the car, but my wife says it has to go. Every where I drive the car, its a true head turner. Because you rarely see a 74 MC all original, still in tact as it was in 74. To say its an 30+ years old, it only has 6k miles on it, so the proof is there to say that the car was barely driven. If you were to test drive it, you'll see what I mean. Still have the same smooth ride it had in 1974 and everything is in tact. Everything is original except the wheels and tires. Its a yellowish/greenish color with a cream half top. The interior is cream, dark brown, and hunter green. The interior look as if the car were barely sat in. Everything that came with this car in 1974, comes with it once this auction ends. I recently put 20 inch daytons and vogues to bring the car out a little but still have the original rims and tires that came with it. Everything works in the car, ranging from the a/c, heat, factory radio, CB, & all power equipped accessories.  Garage kept with very little rust. Of course under the vinyl top and at the bottom of the passenger side fender. There are no dints are dings what so ever. The trunk, hood, and both doors close tightly without having to slam then shut. The car is for sale locally, so with that being said, I hold the right to end this auction whenever or if the car sales locally. The buyer must make at least a $500.00 deposit within 2 days of the auction ending. Shipping & handling will not be on me, whomever wins the auction will have to set up and make arrangements for the vehicle to be shipped. For more information on the car please feel free to contact me at 225-620-2799 between the hours of 7a.m.-10p.m. Thanks in advance!!!

Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.

First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

Chevrolet's latest road rocket, the Corvette Stingray, is a very quick car. If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product. Take a look below to watch the C7's 12.23-second run on video.

Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.
