1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Coupe 2-door 5.0l on 2040-cars
Macungie, Pennsylvania, United States
Up for sale is my 1978 Chevy Monte Carlo. This was a vehicle that I was hoping to restore to original condition, but never got around to completing. However, I did replace the water pump, alternator, front shocks, and rear drum brakes and wheels. Car runs and drives well. I drove it to the Jersey Shore last summer with no problems. I am selling because I’m moving and decided not to take it along. The car was undercoated early on and that is why it survives today. There is only some rust at the bottom of the passenger door panel. The rear end of the car is rust free, highly unusual for this part of the world and the reason I purchased the car in 2008. Mechanically, the car runs well, but the interior is kind of apart. I replaced the headliner with one that I purchased from DixieMonteCarlo.com. I also pulled the door panels, but never replaced them. All the original interior trim pieces are included with the sale. Thanks for looking, she is a good restoration candidate and I hope you fix her up like I always wanted to. Cash or Pay-Pal only. Buyer is responsible for $500 deposit at action close via Pay-Pay. Item will be re-listed if remaining balance is not paid within 7 days. I will report delinquent buyers to ebay. Anyone with zero or negative feedback must contact me via email prior to bidding. Vehicle is also listed for sale locally and auction my end early if sold. Vehicle is sold AS IS, no Warranty. Buyer is responsible for local pickup or any and all shipping arrangements, costs, and transportations. Please email me with any questions. |

Corvette Stingray designer lists five goals of new exterior shape
Fri, 12 Apr 2013Redesigning an icon is a difficult task, especially when you've got a blank sheet of paper in front of you and the all-new C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is intended to be your final objective.
General Motors has released a new short video featuring Kirk Bennion of the Corvette's exterior design team, talking about the challenges of sculpting Chevrolet's new flagship sports car and the five goals the team had to keep in mind as it worked. In the end, Bennion's team had the pleasure of seeing their hard work take center stage as the Corvette captured the world's eyes at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
Why does the Corvette Stingray have so many vents? Here's why
Sun, 27 Jan 2013Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.
If you have about five minutes and you can't get enough information about the new 'Vette, then check out the videos posted below.
Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.
