cool 63 nova convertible has a mid 70's 250 straight 6 and a th350 trans.   five lug conversion is DONE !!  has a posi 3.08 rear and new right stuff power disc brakes with all new brake line and fuel line . garden variety rallies and good tires , i have disc brake centers or the taxi cab centers ...your choice .  front end has been upgraded with a church boys racing lower tubular control arms and rack and pinion steering plus 1 1/8" sway bar. new shocks on all four corners .  the floor pan has been replaced (last winter) and the inner rockers have been repaired and are solid as a rock , i also added my own sub frame connectors.  i used monsta liner (bed liner) on the underneath new floor and laid down fatmat sound deadner in the interior .new heater core and a American Auto Wire wiring harness. there is new carpet (black ,still in the box ) and new sill moldings (also still in the box) i converted the column shift to floor shift and added SS gauges with a tach and a SS console . this is NOT an original SS car , i just added a few SS parts ......let me say that again ...it is NOT an original SS car. i've installed corvair buckets with super cheap covers and i have the original bench seat .   i have no idea how many miles are on the engine , it does rattle  a bit and has a minor rod knock at start up that clears after a few seconds . i replaced the rochester mono jet with a weber 32/36. runs good and has a ton of low end torque.  the body will need some attention in the future if you decide to paint it . the driver side rocker has some rust thru (i have a new rocker) and the passenger side lower rear quarter has some rust thru . some of the body work by a previous owner could be considered sketchy (most likely some bondo ) . the only outer body work i've done is a hagan fuel filler door.  there is NO TOP , the frame is there and works , but no fabric .  i just check the radar before a long drive !   restore it or drive as is , it's a fun car to cruise in.  at auction end the winning bidder will be expected to send a NON REFUNDABLE 500.00 deposit via paypal within 48 hours of auction end and the remainder CASH at time of pickup .  the winning bidder will be responsible for shipping .

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

2015 Chevrolet Cruze spied on its home turf

Tue, 23 Apr 2013

The next Chevrolet Cruze isn't set to go into production for about another year, and we're just now seeing prototypes of the new compact running around here in the States. Not much more has been revealed since we saw the car blasting through the snow in Europe, but we can still clearly see new design elements like the larger grille, slimmer headlamps and redesigned taillamps.
Our spy photographers worked up a composite image of this Cruze prototype alongside the current model, and here, we can clearly see some big visual changes are in store for the new model. The 2015 Cruze's hood slopes downward more dramatically, the windshield is more heavily raked, and the roofline looks more fluid overall. The next-generation Cruze will ride on the new global Delta platform that will also underpin other General Motors vehicles like the Chevrolet Volt and Equinox.
As for what's under the hood, we expect the normal range of gasoline four-cylinder engines (both naturally aspirated and turbocharged), and the compact's new turbodiesel four should carry over, as well. Have a look at the full brace of spy photos in the gallery above.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
