I am listing a 1966 Chevy II Nova for sale for a friend. The copper metallic paint is shiny however not new paint and has a few blemishes here and there, age of the paint is unknown. The car has most of the original trim including the rocker moldings, grille and chrome front and rear bumpers. Windows have been tinted. The car has a short style cowl induction hood. The black interior consists of bucket seats with vinyl and cloth inserts and the rear seat was stitched to match the front. Interior has center console and a Sony cd/mp3/am/fm player in dash stereo. There are also a set of aftermarket gauges under the dash and a column mounted tachometer. Inside the truck is a very nice spatter finish and a reproduction trunk mat for a clean look. The rear quarters were replaced prior to paint and the car shows no signs of rust as the car was purchased from the south. The engine is a Walden built 383 with a hydraulic roller cam, Edelbrock high rise intake, aluminum heads, Holley carburetor and ceramic coated headers that flow into Flowmaster exhaust. The engine is cooled by an aluminum radiator. There is just the right combination of aluminum and chrome under the hood to set it off. The transmission is a built TH350 with stall converter. The 3 speed automatic is on the floor with a Cheetah Turbo Action shifter. The rear end is a 12 bolt with an Eaton carrier 3.42 posi. The wheels are Billet Specialites with 185/65/15 radials up front and 235/60/15 Mickey Thompson Drag radials in the rear and the tires are near new all the way around. Disc brake conversion on the front. The car is very snappy, fun to drive and handles well. The car looks great and drives like it should and was built to run and cruise at the same time. The 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan is for drivers who value performance above all else
Sat, 16 Feb 2013The car you see above is the 2014 Chevrolet SS, and it's important both because it is the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from Chevy in 17 years, and because it will be the nameplate the brand uses on NASCAR tracks all across the country starting this year.
Though it wears a name as American as baseball and apple pie, the machine was actually designed and built in Australia, sharing most of its parts with the brand-new VF-model Holden Commodore. That said, the basic chassis bits are shared with other Chevrolet models like the Camaro and Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle.
While Chevrolet is happy to sell a Malibu or Impala to anyone looking for a mainstream family sedan, but the SS is reserved for buyers interested first and foremost in performance. Most sedans sold these days are front-wheel drive, which is great for everyday driving and when the weather goes bad, but the SS is instead a rear-wheel-drive vehicle aimed at enthusiasts who love to drive and who prefer speed and performance above all else.
UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant
Tue, 08 Apr 2014The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."
GM recalling 118K Colorado, Canyon pickups over missing hood latches
Thu, 20 Dec 2012General Motors has announced a recall of 118,800 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks due to the possibility of secondary hood latches not being installed at the time of manufacture. The affected vehicles are from the 2010, 2011 and 2012 model years, all of which were built between November 9, 2009 and August 28, 2012.
According to the official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, these trucks fail to "comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 113, 'Hood Latch System.' The hood may be missing the secondary hood latch." In other words, owners of these trucks could find their vehicles' hoods opening unexpectedly while driving.
The official recall campaign is expected to begin on January 17, 2013. Dealers will inspect the affected pickups and if a secondary hood latch is not present, one will be installed free of charge. Scroll down to read the official NHTSA report.
