Now up for auction we have a 1969 Chevrolet Nova SS recreation. This Nova was bought new at Ray Bryant Chevrolet in Dayton Ohio on 2/27/69 and has had 2 owners since. We have the original protecto-plate for the car as well as the original owners manuals. The car is showing 89,339 miles which we believe to be correct. She is equipped with a mild 350 small block with aluminum intake, new Holley 750 carb., & headers. She runs great with no issues. She has a new Muncie M-20 four speed manual transmission with a new Hurst competition shifter that shifts flawlessly and works great. She has a 8.5 10 bolt posi rear with 3.08 gears which has been narrowed a 1 1/2" on each side to allow the 275 nitto NT555's to fit perfectly. The car has a new rear suspension (shocks, bushings, bearings, and seals). The front suspension has a 2 inch drop spindles with lowered springs & cross drilled slotted disc brakes. This car performs great & it runs, drives, and stops as she should. All interior and exterior lights work great as do the speedometer, fuel gauge, and horn. The body on this Nova is very solid with no major rust issues. The paint is great for a weekend cruiser but not concourse show quality. She has power steering which works great in turning the new 18 inch American racing torque thrust 2's with gray center & new Nitto NT 555 tires. The car has an awesome pro touring stance. 2014 Chevrolet Malibu gets more torque, more room and inspiration from the Impala
Fri, 31 May 2013The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, having stared at the Impala across the showroom floor for a year, gets nips and tucks all over inspired by its larger brother. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder in the base car will get a stop-start system and 23 city miles per gallon, 35 highway, each number representing a one-mpg improvement over the 2013 car. Output is 196 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque.
Opt for the 2.0-liter turbo and, while power holds steady at 259 hp, torque goes up by 14 percent to a striking 295 lb-ft (a figure Chevy calls best in the class). The final details include newly programmed transmission shift points and faster shifts, for better engaging and enjoying the added power.
Looks-wise, the grille's been reshaped to be more in line with the new Chevrolet look, a narrower upper grille hovering over a larger lower grille.
Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues
Wed, 28 Dec 2011'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.
2014 Chevy Silverado High Country spied wearing trappings of new luxury trim
Wed, 03 Apr 2013Spy photographers have spotted the new Chevrolet Silverado High Country and GMC Sierra Denali out on public streets for a little testing. From the looks of things, the Silverado will receive a much-differentiated front fascia along with special badges and those honking 20-inch chrome wheels. Expect to find a more posh interior as well. Likewise, the Sierra Denali will wear a tweaked nose with the familiar Denali bling. The one of the GMC trucks spotted here rolls on 21-inch gunmetal wheels instead of the 20-inch chrome pieces of the High Country.
Word has it both trucks will go on sale after the Texas State Fair this summer. While General Motors hasn't said for certain what we can expect to find under the hood, we'd be surprised to see anything outside of the range of engines found in the standard Silverado and Sierra models. That means buyers should be able to get their hands on the efficient, 23-miles per gallon 5.3-liter V8.
