I purchased it from MS Classic and they purchased it from a gentleman out of North Carolina. The car has a great American muscle car look and a blast to drive. It was born a 6 cylinder  as the VIN number indicates. The sheet metal on this car looks to be original and very nice. It obviously was a very solid and rust free car prior to the rotisserie restoration. As i mentioned above the body is extremely straight with excellent gaps. The hood, doors and trunk open and close tightly. While the car was on a rotisserie it was painted the exterior color on the entire undercarriage, trunk and engine compartment. This makes it 100%. It was rotisserie restored and done to another level above most classic cars including novas that's on the market for sale. It was painted in a beautiful metallic blue that is beautiful. The paint is definetly show quality and only has a few imperfections. It's been buffed to a magnificent shine. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced. The front windshield is new and all the remaining glass is in great condition with light window tint. The car is wrapped in era correct Cragar S/S 17''chrome wheels that look great. It has Ventus sport 21 5/50/17 tires on the front and 255/45/17 on the rear. The blue exterior is complimented with a completely brand new interior as the photos indicate. When i say completely brand new, i mean it unlike most other classic cars on the market. this car has a new headliner, dash pad, door panels, seats, carpet, trim, etc. It has the total sleeper look inside with the column shift and bench seat. I really like the bench seat as it gives you plenty of room and allows your significant other to slide over and keep you company when you're cruising the streets. The interior had the Sun Pro gauges and Alpine sound system. It has a top of the line Billet Specialities steering wheel($500) and custom Chevrolet carpeted floor mats. Both of these items finished off the interior. The engine compartment is painted and nicely detailed as the photos indicate. It is definitely show quality. It houses a built Chevrolet crate engine that has many upgrades. Some upgrades include a Edelbrock carburetor and air cleaner, complete MSD ignition system, polished intake,Chevrolet orange valve covers, chrome water pump, chrome alternator, aluminum pulleys and Billet power steering pump. Other engine compartment upgrades include a vintage Delco battery, chrome radiator support, electric fan, etc. The engine breathes through brand new Hedman ceramic headers and Flow Master exhaust system with bow tie tips. This engine runs and sounds great. The engine is coupled to a GM turbo 350 transmission and 10 bolt rear end. The transmission has a TCI polished cover. The trunk compartment is painted and nicely detailed as the photos indicate. There's a matching Cragar S/S 17''wheel and tire in the trunk that looks top notch at a car show. It's also cool if you run one of the exterior wheels, you have a backup. The blue fender pad is included with the car. The undercarriage is painted and nicely detailed as the photos indicate. I would challenge you to find a 1968-1971 Nova on the market for sale with an undercarriage that is this detailed. You'll find maybe one or two and that's it. This car has a beautiful and show quality undercarriage. Everything on the underneath has been restored or replaced. The exhaust looks fresh. If you're looking for this body style Nova and want something that is show quality but can be driven, this is the car for you. It's really nice but not a trailer queen. It does have a few minor imperfections as most classic cars do but, will get trophies at car shows and draw serious attention. To complete a restoration like this would cost thousands of dollars and tons of time. Here's your chance to buy a beautiful 1971 Chevy Nova Custom and not break the bank account. Get it before someone else does! I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.

Chevrolet Camaros at SEMA are a mobile accessory catalog

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

Chevy's goal at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week seems to be to show as much of its Performance and Accessories catalog as possible. That's why it brought three different Camaros - two with V8s and one powered by a V6 - with all of the best goodies from the catalog already fitted.
We gave a more in-depth recap of the Performance Camaro V8 Concept, the Performance Camaro V6 Concept and the Performance Garage Concept already, but we figured you'd like a short recap for each. It should be noted, though, that you can order all of the items you see here for your own Camaro, so be sure to take a long, hard look at our live galleries, just in case you're in the market for some mods.
Essentially, the Performance Garage Concept and the Performance V8 Concept are the same car - the only difference is that the later features a whole host of aesthetic tweaks in addition to its aftermarket, shorty exhaust headers and 2.75-inch exhaust. (The Performance Garage Concept has been usefully placed on its side; the better to see the new parts added to the vehicle.) The Performance V6 Concept is notable because, despite being a V6, there's no shortage of performance goodies fitted. All three of the Performance Camaros benefit from items from the Camaro ZL1, which can also be ordered through the catalog.

Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.
