Here is my daily driver 1974 Chevy Nova Custom 4 Door Sedan. I got it from a buddy of mine in Wilmington, NC, who got it from a Warner Bros. studio lot, where it was used in the 2011 Blake Lively movie "Hick". Apparently it was purchased from an estate sale in NC, so supposedly I am the 4th owner. However, I can't guarantee that fact. With that being said, the engine runs strong and the 3 speed transmission shifts smoothly. Since I got the car in February, here is a list of all the new parts and work done to it:
*New Transmission modulator valve
*New Rochester carburator
*New Battery and Battery Cables
*New Vaccuum advance
*New Fuel filter
*New Starter
*New Plugs and Wires
*New Alternator
*New Manifold Gasket
*New Complete Exhaust System from Manifold Back
*New Rear Wheel Cylinders
*New Rear Brakes
*New Media Player Stereo W/ Aux Hookup for IPOD/Tablet/PC/Phone and up to 32GB SD merory card slot and USB Hookup (Also doubles as a charger)
*New Front and Rear Speakers
When I got the car it had 47700 and it just got to 50177. This is obviously 150,000 but again I cannot guarantee that. Tires put on last summer, still practically brand new.
The Bad: Little cancer around both back fenders but not too bad. Missing left front headlight bezel. Front right fender dented up some on the side looks like they may have attached a camera to it during filming or something. Also missing passenger mirror. One crack in middle of dash. Seats are ripped pretty bad and need repair. Fairly new carpet and headliner. Trunk and floorplan solid.
With all being said it is a daily driver and a very solid vehicle. Hate to part with but making way for new projects.

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]
Fri, 25 Jan 2013The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?

C7 Corvette turbo with 1,000 horsepower promised from Hennessey
Mon, 25 Feb 2013If you can't wait for the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Hennessey says they will have you covered. The Texas-based company has announced it will offer a spate of upgrades for the 2014 Corvette ranging from a range of bolt-on options all the way up to a 1,000-horsepower, twin-turbo system. Buyers can start with a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust or stainless steel long-tube headers, but Hennessey says it will also offer up three stages of forced induction mayhem should those bits and baubles not provide enough thrust.
Those choices start with a supercharger system good for up to 700 hp, though Hennessey will gladly ditch the blower in favor of two turbos. Doing so will spin the crank to the tune of 800 horsepower all the way up to a certifiably ludicrous 1,000 ponies. There's no word on how much these tricks will cost you - or when they will be available, as we're guessing they haven't gotten their hands on the car yet - but you can head over to the Hennessey site to drop them a line if you're curious.
2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette wastes no time zooming into Jay Leno's Garage
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Where else would you expect the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray to show up first? Although this time it isn't exactly in Jay Leno's Garage, Leno instead playing an away game at Brown's Classic Auto in Scottsdale, Arizona. Nor does Leno drive the car, instead taking an 11-minute walkaround of the new American sports car with General Motors design head Ed Welburn, the same man who recently brought by a string of classic Corvettes to the talk show host's California compound.
It is, admittedly, a love-fest for the American sports car now featuring 450 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, but one that also features admissions about previous Corvette seats like "they were kinda rough," and the explanation that labeling the coupe "Stingray" means not having to call it "the base Corvette." On top of that, Welburn also explains the proper application of the term "dashboard." You can watch it all in the video below.
