I HAVE HAD THIS CAR SINCE 1994, I BELIEVE I'M THE FOURTH OWNER, I HAVE THE ORIGINAL PROTECT-O-PLATE INFORMATION FROM ORIGINAL PURCHASE OF THE CAR THAT GOES WITH IT AS WELL, WHEN I GOT THE CAR I TOOK THE ENGINE OUT AND CLEANED IT, PUT ALL NEW GASKETS AND REPAINTED IT, WENT THROUGH THE TRANSMISSION AND CLEANED IT, AND PUT A NEW FILTER,GASKET AND FLUID IN IT, SANDBLASTED THE FRONT END, REPAINTED THE FRONT END AND PUT ALL NEW CHASSIS PARTS THAT IT NEEDED ON IT, COMPLETE NEW EXHAUST SYSTEM ,NEW GAS TANK AND SENDING UNIT. JUST RECENTLY PUT ON NEW FRONT AND REAR BRAKES, NEW SHOCKS ,SERVICED THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN AND PUT A CHOKE ON IT BECAUSE IT WAS A LITTLE HARD TO START WHEN IT WAS COLD OUTSIDE. I HAVE ALL THE ORIGINAL RIMS,TIRES AND HUB CAPS TO GO WITH IT. THE TRUNK IS IN GREAT SHAPE AS WELL AS THE FLOOR PANS. THE CAR HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT EVER SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT. GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title
Thu, 12 Sep 2013General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.

Joe Flacco wins C7 Corvette along with MVP honors
Mon, 04 Feb 2013As part of a longstanding tradition, the MVP of Super Bowl XLVII, Joe Flacco, quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, was given a new car directly after the game and trophy celebrations. For 2013, that car is a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, and it was presented to Flacco by Rick Flick of Banner Chevrolet, a dealership in New Orleans that was wiped out by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 before returning to prominence as the only Chevy dealer in Orleans Parish.
Last year, Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning took home a 2012 Corvette GS Centennial Edition. Manning also won in 2008, when he selected a Cadillac Escalade Hybrid as his reward. In 2011, quarterback Aaron Rodgers accepted the keys to a Camaro convertible.
Though we're most definitely an auto-obsessed group, we did watch the Big Game along with nearly everyone else in America. And we've gotta say, as if winning the Super Bowl and receiving the Tiffany-designed Pete Rozelle Trophy wasn't enough for the multi-millionaire MVP athletes, a brand-new C7 seems like an awfully generous prize.
