1949 Chevy Pickup. Custom. 350 Engine. Convertible. One Of A Kind! Car Show King on 2040-cars
Arlington Heights, Illinois, United States
1SU61840 The car is one of a kind and you will never find a car like this. Have won at 3 car shows for best custom truck. This catches attention like no other. When you drive this people take pictures ask you about it and have even had people chase me down the highway to talk about the car. This would make for a great daily driver as it starts right up and always works no matter what. I never drove this except in perfect weather though as this was my sunday driver. PRICE IS SET REALLY LOW BECAUSE OF WINTER, BUT THE CLOSER TO SUMMER THE HIGHER THE PRICE WILL GET. Paint Job Cost me almost 4k not including prep. The bed of the truck is made of finished plywood but if youd like you could paint it or put different wood. Car has straight pipes, I like it loud like that but you could put mufflers on it. I have Bed cover but has to be fitted to the truck or you can use it for the convertible top. I really had no use for the top as i drove it to car shows and on sundays. 350 small block engine very strong power steering power brakes 350 turbo trans lowering kit. Car is low to the ground but not slammed. and would be good enough height for even a daily driver Roll bars Drives straight and very smooth just like any new car today Car was built on a s10 frame brakes great Hate to see this car go but need more space in the garage. There is nothing this much fun for the price i am asking. Title in hand Call me if you have any questions 847 414 3709 |

Race Recap: 2013 Indianapolis 500 better than Bollywood; all the emotion, none of the music [spoilers]
Mon, 27 May 2013If the 2013 Indy 500 were a movie it would be the one expected to win all the little statues come awards season, and if it were an athlete it would have made spectators watch in awe as it broke record after record. And this kind of talk comes after last year's race was considered one of the best ever - the last lap hijinks in 2012 and Takuma Sato's crash leading to a podium ceremony straight out of a Golden Globes tearjerker.
But this year's race delivered more than anyone expected, from the 250,000 fans to the commentators to the IndyCar series itself and, finally, to the guy who hopped through a two-mile window on Lap 197 to take the lead and keep it until the end.
GM recalling 118K Colorado, Canyon pickups over missing hood latches
Thu, 20 Dec 2012General Motors has announced a recall of 118,800 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks due to the possibility of secondary hood latches not being installed at the time of manufacture. The affected vehicles are from the 2010, 2011 and 2012 model years, all of which were built between November 9, 2009 and August 28, 2012.
According to the official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, these trucks fail to "comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 113, 'Hood Latch System.' The hood may be missing the secondary hood latch." In other words, owners of these trucks could find their vehicles' hoods opening unexpectedly while driving.
The official recall campaign is expected to begin on January 17, 2013. Dealers will inspect the affected pickups and if a secondary hood latch is not present, one will be installed free of charge. Scroll down to read the official NHTSA report.
Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting?
