1966 chevy c30 wrecker that is in working condition and with a few exceptions original . I hava great rating because I do my very best to communicate with you any issues that the item has , that being said if you have ANY QUESTIONS please ask 24 hours BEFORE bidding ends . I will do my best to answer your questions promptly and accurately . This truck is running and driving . It does not smoke and starts up and runs great . The transmission and/or rear is noisy ( normal for this application or due to usage I don't know ) . shifts great , no grind and the clutch is good . transmission does leak . Tires are fair , tread is good but they do have cracks from age . body has rust , frame is solid . wrecker body is in good shape overall , compartment bottoms are rusted . All wrecker components work . cables do not appear to be frayed at all and PTO shafts engage smoothly and work well . Fuel gauge and heater controls do not work . Radio appears original and does not work . This truck was found and brought back to running condition in 2011 ( fuel line , carb rebuild , pto cable , battery etc ) and was used for less than 400 miles until now . Its is as close to stock as you will find . The rust is typical but not bad . there is rust in the rocker panels and floor pans , and in the wrecker body compartment bases . I have done my best to take pictures of the rust that i am aware of . All the lights ( with the exception of 2 on the wrecker body ) are original and work including the amber tow light and rearward facing floods . Wrecker body is Holmes 440 w/ PTO driven winch .This truck is intact and original and completely functional . Due to age of vehicle , tires and gearing this vehicle will need to be trailered , it is great for short trips but I would not suggest a long trip w/ the gear ( 55 mph is about it ) and the fact that so much is original to 1966 . Thanks for looking -

GM profits threatened by glut of pickups

Wed, 05 Dec 2012

Automotive News reports that General Motors may slash production or ramp up discounts in order to deal with an oversupply of pickup trucks. GM currently has more than double the standard supply of pickups, and the vehicles are threatening to dampen the automaker's profits for 2013. Typically, automakers try to sustain a 60- to 75-day supply of vehicles, but GM is currently loaded with a 139-day supply, as of last month. At the end of November, the automaker was sitting on 245,853 units.
The manufacturer says that it will adjust production accordingly before laying any incentives on the profitable pickups. Even so, there's some concern that the inventory swell could hurt the roll-out of the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. GM actually began slowly stepping back production in August, but it's clear the company will take further action as it heads toward the end of the year and into the next. Analysts predict the automaker could reduce pickup manufacturing by nearly half in the first quarter of 2013.
That still may not be enough to keep GM from laying extra cash on the Silverado and GMC Sierra. While the company's incentive spending was down in November compared to the same month in 2011, both the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 saw double-digit percentage increases in sales last month while the Silverado and Sierra numbers slid compared to a year prior. Incentive spending could help move more trucks and add some balance to the GM inventory surge.

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.

First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

Chevrolet's latest road rocket, the Corvette Stingray, is a very quick car. If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product. Take a look below to watch the C7's 12.23-second run on video.
