1986 Chevrolet K10 Silverado Standard Cab Pickup 2-door 5.7l on 2040-cars
Lexington, South Carolina, United States
Up for sale is my 1986 Chevrolet K10 Silverado. I have been working on restoring this truck for about a year and a half now. I just don't have time for it any longer and would like it to go to someone who will take care of it. I am the 3rd owner. It was painted a few months ago with a custom paint job. It has leather bucket seats, dual premium exhaust, a new starter, Edlebrock Carburetor, Viper alarm system, sound proofing behind the seats, Power windows, power door looks, and the motor runs strong. The truck does have a 6 speaker sound system (CD player) Pioneer. The tires have good tread (33x12.50x33) however there is some cracking in them. They still hold air though. I was planning on replacing the carpet at the first of the year as it does have some wear. It is a great truck and with a little time can be in immaculate condition. Whoever purchases this vehicle will love it. If you have any questions please ask. Good Luck.
Payment is due within 48 hours of purchase Buyer will arrange pickup/shipping as I have no way of delivering the truck to you. I cannot confirm at this time if the mileage on my title, 97,000, at the time of purchase, is correct. |

GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices
Mon, 21 Oct 2013The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.
NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall
Wed, 13 Mar 2013
The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
Chevy gets cracking on Cruze EV fleet testing

The Chevrolet Volt hasn't yet gone on sale, but General Motors is looking at ways of expanding its electric vehicle lineup. Chevy, along with partner LG, is employing a group of all-electric cars in the form of the Cruze. The sedans are part of a demonstration fleet which is located in Seoul, South Korea and is being used to provide data in an electric vehicle research project. The goal is to gather information on driving patterns and charging behavior in addition to consumer acceptance.
The Cruze EVs, along with some Daewoo Lacetti Premieres EVs, are the first fleet of full-size electric vehicles and should provide invaluable information for The General. Staying full-size means not sacrificing cargo space, so the battery pack is mounted to the underbody, leaving the trunk area open for plenty recyclable, canvas grocery bags.
