1986 gmc s15. The truck needs some tlc but it runs and drives great the way it is. The frontend is a dana 44 professionally installed. All the mounts are welded and braced. The rearend is a 9 inch ford with dual shock setup. Both rearends and the fuel tank are from a 1972 Bronco. The motor is a stock 350 v8 with new plugs, wires, and cap and button. Has a newer optima red top gel battery.  It has dual exhaust with cherry bomb mufflers. Transmission is a stock automatic 700r4 (also known as 4L60). The body is painted primer black and in good shape for its age. Very minimal rust. Bed is solid. It has like new 33 tires with 3" cut-out flairs to cover them. Interior is in ok shape. Floor boards have been repaired. Has a hurst ratchet shifter on the floor (reverse lights currently do not work because they are not hooked up to shifter). Also fuel gauge doesn't work due to the tank being from a ford. Truck comes with a cd player that just needs wired in.  Four wheel drive works but front driveshaft is out for a bad universal joint. Truck is sold as is. The truck has a lot of time and money put into it. Any other questions call or text 304-312-6300. Truck is for sale locally and I have the right to end auction early. Payment is cash only when truck is picked up by the buyer. I do not ship.  I do not except checks or any other payment.

GM recalls full-size truck, SUVs and vans over faulty shifter mechanism

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

Twelve different General Motors vehicles from the 2013 model year, up to 54,686 units in total, are being recalled over two potential issues with their steering columns. The models in question, all full-size trucks, SUVs or vans, are the: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The affected vehicles were built with a fractured parking lock cable or "a malformed steering column lock actuator gear in the lock module assembly." As a consequence, they could shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied or with the key removed or in the off position.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that the recall should begin on January 17. GM will notify owners, at which time they can take their vehicles to their dealers for repair free of charge. Have a look at the bulletin below for more information.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
