HERE IS A GREAT LOOKING 1984 CHEVROLET C/K 1500 SILVERADO SHORT BED FLARESIDE PICKUP TRUCK WITH EVERY SINGLE OPTION, DUAL GAS TANKS, NICE COLORS AND STOCK V8 THAT IS READY TO CRUISE ANYWHERE AT THE TURN OF THE KEY!

Please e-mail me with questions or to set up an inspection to see the car in person. AUCTION MAY BE STOPPED AT ANY TIME.

Please note: wheels/tires pictured do NOT come with the car but can be purchased separately if desired. I also have a set of factory truck rally wheels with caps, also sold separately.

Vehicle came out of North Carolina. I purchased it a few months ago and have used it as a shop truck of sorts. It has proven extremely reliable and with the list of options on it, extremely comfortable as well. This is by far the most dependable and reliable truck I've owned in a long time.

OPTIONS:

Power steering

Power Disc brakes

Power windows

Power door locks

Air conditioning

Cruise control

Tilt steering column

AM/FM cassette stereo

Bench seat interior

Dual exhaust

Automatic transmission on the column

Dual gas tanks

Dual color (blue and white)

Tow hitch

Mechanically it fires right up and sounds great along with the throaty stock exhaust system. Motor is the original 305ci V8 4bbl. that runs strong! Transmission is solid and shifts good through all the gears without any noises or grinding. Now as for driving the car, i've taken it out of state several times, and everywhere around town to haul parts. You can cruise with it on the highway all day and I would trust it to drive anywhere at the drop of a hat.

Interior is very presentable. Bench seat in very good shape with only minor wear. Door panels in fair shape overall with a couple of cracks on armrests and some fading at the top and carpeted portions. Carpet is worn but presentable. Headliner is ok (a bit droopy), Steering wheel in fair shape with normal wear. Dash pad was redone in leather from what it looks like, and looks great. Overall very presentable for a working man's driver truck.

Underside has a SOLID frame. Floorboards look great and are rock solid. Bed is in excellent shape with normal wear from putting things in and out but NO holes or rot anywhere!. It's as nice as you would want a truck to be without being all painted and show ready.

THERE IS NO RUST ON THIS CAR OTHER THAN ON THE BOTTOM SURFACE WHICH CAN EASILY BE REPAINTED. NO HOLES, NO BUBBLES, NO ROT, NO SOFT AREAS, NOTHING THAT I WAS ABLE TO SEE.

The old girl is NOT perfect by any means of course so please keep that in mind when bidding. Paint is in fairly good shape and cleans up very nice, but was NOT a $10k paintjob so please keep that in mind (looks good but has some issues of course like small dings, a few touch-ups, some scratches, and the like). Lower doors have a couple of small dents. Roof has some scrapes that were touched up. Steering box has some play in it. Air conditioning should be serviced but is all there and hooked up. A couple of the smaller gauges not accurate.

So overall she is not perfect and will need some form of TLC depending on how nice you want it to be and what you plan to do with the car. Please note, I cannot remember every single issue with the car, nor do I know everything wrong with it, as it is after all over 30 years old  so keep that in mind.

If you just want a GREAT LOOKING and nearly RUST-FREE DRIVER needing minor tlc, this is the car for you. If you want a show car, it will need some considerable investment or total restoration to bring it up to that level of course. I ENCOURAGE ANYONE BIDDING OR SERIOUSLY INTERESTED TO COME LOOK AT IT IN PERSON. I WILL BE GLAD TO SHOW IT TO YOU TOP TO BOTTOM SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO.

Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.

C7 Corvette makes inaugural ad appearance in Chevy's first spot with new slogan

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" tagline has finally been run into the ground, replaced with the Bowtie brand's "Find New Roads" slogan that's part of parent General Motors' plan to unify its everyday brand's marketing efforts worldwide. The new Chevrolet campaign was ushered in on prime time last night during the Grammy Awards on CBS, and the first spot, a 90-second full-line ad, also marks the first appearance of the 2014 Corvette Stingray in a commercial.
Being a full-line ad, the commercial is composed of vignettes centered on different vehicles in the brand's lineup. The all-new 2014 Impala also makes its first commercial appearance in dapper fashion, and time is spent on a skateboarding Sonic and a bouquet of brightly colored Spark hatchbacks driven by fashionable women. The ad starts and ends with Chevy's green halo car, the Volt, along with a young girl with her robotic dog (yes, really).
Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" campaign got off to a rocky start in the fall of 2010, but it did last for a couple of years with some tweaks. This new one, "Find New Roads" seems more intent on drawing new customers into the fold than the outgoing tagline, which seemed to play more toward the brand faithful. It admittedly reminds us more than a little the short-lived "Find Your Own Road" Saab motto (which, we note, was conceived while the Swedish brand was under GM's control), but no matter, we still think it's got more long-term potential than "Runs Deep."
