1997 Chevy ext cab 4x4 stepside black cowl hood auto trans 38 inch mud tires, aluminum wheels, super swampers, southern truck rust free (needs work)
I bought this truck about a month ago at a wholesale auto auction (Manheim Atlanta), on a online auction. I needed to fill a spot on a auto transport hauler and bought this truck as is. The truck is black has a susp. lift kit and a body lift kit, it has a metal aftermarket cowl hood and billet grill. It is a very solid truck I dony see any rust on it or under it, it does have some small dents but nothing very bad at all, it is pretty straight for a 97 model. The interior has some stains and some dirt in the carpet but it think it would clean up and look alot better, again not bad for a 97 truck.
When the truck arrived it did not have a key, so I got on made by the local dealership. The truck had a aftermarket alarm system, (which I had removed) and a push button starter switch under the steering column. The engine cranks and has 50 - 60 psi oil pressure, the headers leak and will need gaskets on heads or collectors. A friend of mine drove the truck across town and said it didnt drive good. You can tell by looking at the wear on the front tires the steering needs a little work, and alignment. The wheels are weld aluminum and the tires are some sort of super swampers 38 x 15.5 x 15, one tire is in good shape and three are worn, the lift kit is procomp, and it has a body lift also.
I didnt test the 4x4, windows lights wipers or any of the acc... The truck has not even been washed, you can see the tree sap on the body, wipes off with your finger. I want to sell the truck as is no returns, no test drives on the road, it has no (insurance), please bring trailer probably not drivable because of front end steering problems. At this time I'm not able to haul the truck but maybe able to help you find transportation locally. The truck needs work but I'm willing to sell the truck cheap...I dont have time to work on it have too many other projects at this time and have been forced to move out of my building.. Or I would keep the truck...this bodystyle is getting hard to find with no rust.
AS IS no returns, no test drive or joy rides, paypal deposit $200 the the rest of the payment will have to be cash in hand...thanks

GM applies for LT5, LTX trademarks... are new small block variants coming?
Mon, 29 Apr 2013Recently discovered General Motors trademark applications for LT4, LT5, LT88 and LTX have observers wondering what kind of high-performance offerings could be on their way. A new LT4 would mark a return of the engine designation first used on the Corvette Grand Sport, SLP Pontiac Firehawk and SLP Chevrolet Camaro SS from 1996 and 1997. Supposition at Corvette Forum - which provided advance intel on the C7 like these leaked images - believes a new LT4 could go into the high-performance trim of the next-gen, 2015 Camaro that would be more powerful than the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1.
Seeing an LT5 again would also be déjà vu - in its former life it was a 5.7-liter V8 for the C4 Corvette ZR-1 from 1990-1994 designed by Lotus, producing from 370 hp to 405 hp. A mix of rumor and hope is that the new LT5 will be a supercharged evolution of the 6.2-liter LT1 (pictured) placed in the new C7 Corvette, and that it will go into the C7 version of the ZR1 pumping out something like 700 hp.
The LTX trademark is, as with that last letter, a complete mystery. If the "X" isn't a generic way to denote the whole LT family, it's wondered if it LTX could refer to a crate motor offering like the LSX.
Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]
Sun, 03 Feb 2013The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.
Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
