1995 Chevrolet 3500HD Rollback with Aatac Steel Bed

Thanks for looking at my truck. I have owned this truck twice. This second time I purchased it in Dec. 2008 with 117k miles. I have used the truck to haul my own salvage cars. The first time I purchased it was when it had 60k miles and sold it with 90k miles. That was to a wrecker service. The truck runs and drives great for the mileage. It does have a few issues though. The truck made it through a tornado we had in 2011 with only a few small dents and broken tail lights. I also got some hail damage then. It needs to be painted, cab and bed. The bed is solid and has no rust out. The interior is a little dirty and I have not cleaned it. The seat is original and has minor wear for its age. It is the Silverado cab which has all the power buttons and everything works. The windshield wipers act up. The delay has a board that is about $25, I think that is the problem. Winshield is not cracked. The windshield is leaking I noticed when I washed it. The tires were put on as a set and have about 40% left. The a/c compressor is bad and needs replacing. The engine runs great, starts every time and sounds great. One problem, It pressurizes the cooling system. The water pump locked up and it overheated two years ago. I replaced the water pump and it ran fine. One day it started its problem. I have driven this way since. It does not overheat. I don't drive it very often and not on long trips. If the radiator cap is left loose it operates normally. I don't know what the problem is. The bed has the electric idle up and works great. The bed has not got any problems that I can see. No hydraulic leaks. It has dual controls. It has matching tool boxes which are in good shape. It does have the stinger which is not independent. Some thieves stole the strobe light bar but left the control unit under the bed. It does not come with any chains. I had to use them on another truck I have purchased. It has been a good truck for me. If someone spent just a little money spiffing it up they would have a dependable daily use truck.

If you have any questions give me a call.

Watch NASCAR racer Jeff Gordon put one over on a used car dealer... sorta

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Full Disclosure: in my younger days, I loved nothing more than tormenting passengers with my behind-the-wheel hijinks. Once, after a particularly artful handbrake turn on a two-lane at around 50 miles per hour, I left one backseat occupant crying in their own lap. This isn't necessarily something to be proud of, but it gives you a glimpse into why it is that I find this ad from Pepsi so damn disappointing. The premise is beautiful. Take NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon, give him a disguise and set him loose upon some unsuspecting used car dealer. Hilarity ensues.
Except that this Pepsi Max commercial is so obviously staged, it can't help but feel like some ham-fisted marketing fail. From the strategically placed aftermarket cupholder mounted mid-dash for the hidden camera to the fact that the supposed dealer Camaro is displayed as a 2009 model (Hint: Chevrolet didn't make any), this clip is about as organic as a Twinkie. Still, we would never turn down a chance to watch Gordon thrash on a rental-spec coupe - only problem is, he probably didn't even do the driving himself. Check it out below.

Chevy shows much-improved 2014 Corvette interior in new video

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

If you want a closer look at what went into designing and building the interior for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, we've got just the thing. General Motors has released a new video detailing the cabin's evolution from conception to execution, complete with commentary from Ryan Vaughn, performance car interior design manager with Chevrolet. The quick clip details how manufacturing, engineering and design within General Motors worked together from the first sketches to ensure no compromises had to be made later down the line. How novel.
With plenty of hides traced with contrast stitching and available real carbon fiber trim, the cabin looks to be a few hundred miles ahead of the C6. Given how readily critics derided the previous generation for its cabin, the C7 should make writers work a little harder to find something to complain about. Check out the video below for yourself.

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.
