this listing is for a 1987 Chevy suburban 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive. this ruck is from Georgia and has had no road time in Illinois. has a 98% rust free body but does have some paint issues that come with age. was orig a 350 TBI but is currently without a motor or trans... doors open and close with ease and is solid. odometer shows 49,000 but cant be 100% sure..

the good... has rear air, power locks, power windows, AC and rear defrost with is odd... has tailgate rear door. has extra glass to replace the 2 that are only cracked not broke out.

the bad... interior is so-so... front seat and dash are sun faded frayed, cracked and shot. there is no engine or trans.... missing the 3rd row seats.. paint is peeling in places but rust free. dent in the rear passenger corner. dent in the front passenger fender.... see pics...

selling as a project to get rid of a project. to much going on to do. would be a great 4x4 donor body...

Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues

'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Supercharged, 6.2-liter V8? Check. Seven-speed manual? Check. Obsession with weight? Check.
What did you expect when Chevrolet said it was bringing a new Corvette variant to the 2014 New York Auto Show? Maybe a sticker and trim package, like the C6 Corvette Grand Sport or a tie-in deal like the Black Widow car from Chicago? On the opposite end, maybe there was an even more hardcore Z06 waiting in the wings. Who knew?
