This is my 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe. It's a desireable 2 Door model with 4 wheel drive. First and foremost, the exact mileage is listed as 186960 during the listing process. I drive the vehicle on a seldom basis so please understand that the mileage may (and likely will) increase between now and the listings end. Things to note about this vehicle: The driver's side visor window frame broke leaving the light on permanently and drained the battery on a regular basis. I removed the visor and have intended on replacing it. The right door clip that secures the window and door lock buttons broke, also will replace. The check engine light is on thanks to a bad o2 sensor and the AC needs a recharge. Otherwise the vehicle is mechanically sound. I just replaced the oil, plugs and battery. The 4wd works perfectly. The paint is as can be expected for 17 year old paint. The interior is better than can be expected. There are no tears in the leather although it does have "cracks" throughout it. The carpet is also in good shape. The vehicle is wired for a stereo system, please don't ask me the technical details about this as I do not know them. The tires have about 35% left on them then will need to be replaced. If you are looking for a safe, dependable vehicle this would be an excellent choice. If you want something economical I average 16 miles per gallon...keep looking. I encourage anyone who is interested to email me with any questions. If you want to come inspect and test drive the vehicle you are welcome to it. I encourage anyone to have a mechanic check the vehicle out, at your expense, and within a reasonable distance from my house since the gas will be at my expense (again, 16 mpg). My name's Dan and please don't hesitate to ask any questions, also, keep in mind I may not be available to answer last minute questions at the auctions end, but I will do my best. Thanks and good luck!

I require a $500.00 down payment within 72 hours of the auctions end. Should you choose to pay the full amount via paypal I will charge an additional 3.5% to the final sales price minus the $500.00 down payment. This is to cover the excessive cost of using paypal. I gladly accept and prefer cash, in person. I can hold the vehicle up to 30 days after the auctions close; however, a deposit is still required within 72 hours regardless of how long I need to hold the vehicle. The vehicle is listed locally and I can end the auction early unless the reserve is met.

Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.

UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."
